Our Wedding

Morgan and Bryce met in October 2015 at Sunol Ridge Bar in Walnut Creek, CA. This happened to be Morgan's second day living in California after she moved from Boston, MA. Morgan was quite homesick that night, and had little interest in going out. Bryce was tired from the day and also had to be convinced to go out for drinks. Two friends separately convinced them to come out, coincidently introduced them at a local hangout, and ensured a memorable Friday night (thanks Jen and Clif!). Out of all of the bars in the area, they ended up meeting at the same bar on a night that neither one wanted to go out- talk about fate! The next day, Bryce invited Morgan to enjoy oyster shucking on the beach. Despite her phone dying mid-day, and her friends back in Boston thinking that she was being kidnapped, they had a great day eating oysters, drinking wine, and seeing the Golden Gate Bridge for the first time. They spent the next 6 years making the best memories. In January, Morgan and Bryce had a weekend day planned to do their favorite activity - oyster shucking! After they picked up the oysters, Bryce decided to drive to the beach that they went to on their first date (and wore the same shirt he had on the night they met) where he then proposed to Morgan. It was a cloudy coastal day, but right after Bryce proposed, the clouds opened up to the most gorgeous sunset. After many experiences tasting California wines together, they have decided they must have their wedding at one of California's historic wineries. They hope you all get to enjoy the sights and scenes that make this landscape special to them. They're so excited to start this next part of their lives together and cannot wait to celebrate with you in April in wine country!

Air Travel

The closest airports to Livermore, CA are San Francisco (SFO) - 46 miles, Oakland (OAK) - 27 miles, and San Jose (SJC) - 30 miles.

Airport to Livermore

If you are flying to CA, we recommend renting a car from the airport. BART (train) does not run directly to Livermore. Drive time from SFO to Livermore is 45 minutes.

Transportation on Wedding Day

We are providing shuttle service from the Marriott Courtyard in Livermore to the wedding venue. If a guest chooses to leave the venue early, the shuttle will be on the property for your convenience. If you choose to stay at another hotel or Air BnB, you can use Uber or drive your rental vehicle to the venue and Uber back to your hotel/Air BnB. The venue will allow guests to leave their cars in the parking lot overnight until 10:00 AM the next day.

We have arranged a room block at the Courtyard Marriott in Livermore, CA.&nbsp;We will be providing shuttles&nbsp;to/from the hotel to our venue.&nbsp;Please be sure to check back for further details in regards to shuttle information. Please <a href="https://www.marriott.com/events/start.mi?id=1617116626627&amp;key=GRP" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">click here</a> to book online directly or reference Dobry/Nelson wedding when calling the hotel directly. Reservations must be made by March 31, 2022 to secure the room block rate.We will be continuing the celebration at the Marriott Courtyard as soon as the wedding is over, so we encourage our guests to join us staying at the hotel!

We decided to do a buffet to ensure that everyone has plenty of food to eat while enjoying the night. If you choose to extend your stay in CA...

San Francisco (40 minute drive):- Golden Gate Bridge (best place to see the bridge is in the Marin Headlands)- Dolores Park (grab some lunch and snacks to go and enjoy beautiful views of the SF skyline)- Coit Tower- Cable Cars- Alcatraz (if you plan on visiting Alcatraz, make reservations at least 2 months in advance!)- SF has the highest density of Michelin Star restaurants, but if you want cheaper options.. make sure you get a burrito in the Mission District, a pizza slice from Slice House (North Beach), sushi at Elephant Sushi, and an Irish Coffee at Buena Vista (where Irish coffees were first invented!). There are endless options for food! Livermore- Wente Vineyards (oldest family winery in California)- Concannon Vineyard- Altamont Beer Works- Shadow Puppet Brewing Company- Downtown Livermore: restaurants, bars, nightlife.. Napa Valley (76 miles - 1.5 hours):Some of our favorite wineries are:- Hall- Peju- Laird- Provenance- Stags Leap- Freemark Abbey- Chimney Rock- Rutherford Hill (cave tours and great views of Napa Valley)- Mumm Napa (for bubbly)**If you plan on wine tasting at a winery, we highly recommend making reservations a few weeks in advance **Our favorite place to grab a snack or sandwich in between tastings is Oakville Grocery Redwood Regional Park (35 min drive)- Stream, Mill and French Trail Loop (4.5 miles)- French, Bridle and Stream Trail Loop (9 miles) Yosemite National Park (~3 hour drive - 124 miles)- Mist Trail to Vernal Falls (3 miles) or to Nevada Falls (around April, the waterfalls are very large so you will get soaked on one part of this trail! - 7 miles)- Upper Yosemite Falls (leads to North America's tallest waterfall! - 7.6 miles)- Four Mile Trail to Glacier Point (very challenging but worth it forthe views)- Clouds Rest (very challenging/all day hike but worth it for the views - 20 miles)- Yosemite Valley Floor: if you want to enjoy the beauty of Yosemite without hiking, you can leisurely walk around the Valley floor and see world-class views **If you plan on visiting Yosemite, please check the US National Park Service website for restrictions/reservation information. Lake Tahoe (3h 45 min drive)- South Lake Tahoe: we travel here more than North Lake Tahoe. Beautiful beaches and great restaurants/breweries- North Lake Tahoe: beautiful beaches, restaurants, etc.- The Naked Fish - our favorite sushi restaurant in South Lake Tahoe- Rent stand up paddle boards and/or kayaks and swim in the water (the water temperature in late April is going to be very chilly and not desirable for swimming) *below distances are from Livermore*Half Moon Bay (1 hour drive)Monterey/Carmel (2.5 hour drive)Santa Cruz (2 hour drive)Redwood National Park (4 hour drive)Santa Barbara (5.5 hour drive) Los Angeles (5.5-6 hour drive)San Diego (7 hour drive)

Things to Do

We are so excited to celebrate our special day with all of you in April! The dance floor will be outdoors. The weather in April historically is warm during the day (~70 degrees), but the nights get chilly (~45 degrees). We highly recommend you bring a jacket to keep you warm as the dance floor is outside.
