In all honesty, our love story started not with swiping right, but with a mama’s love... for pool and matchmaking. It all began when Syngen joined a local pool team and struck up a friendship with my mom, Kathy. As they spent time together chalking cues and sinking shots, Mama couldn’t help but think, “Syngen might be good with a cue, but he’d be even better with my daughter.” So what did she do? Like any modern-day Cupid, she pulled out her phone and started showing him pictures of me (no pressure, right?).

Turns out, Syngen liked what he saw, and Mama worked her magic to set us up. I had only one condition: we were going to Mudbugs at the Loop because, well, I love crawfish! There’s just something about the perfect mix of spice, butter, and, well, a big pile of shells that says “romantic first date,” right?

So there we were, sitting across from each other, hands covered in crawfish juice, both trying to make a good first impression despite the messy situation. Somehow, between cracking shells and sharing laughs, we found ourselves having the best time. It was clear from the start that this was more than just a lucky shot—pool pun intended.

Who would’ve thought that mama’s pool team would lead me to the love of my life? Thanks, Mama! We may have met over mudbugs and melted butter, but that first date was just the beginning of a beautiful journey—and we can’t wait to celebrate the next chapter with all of you!
