Our Story

Hello everyone! I’m Jake, and I’ll be your narrator through this tale of romance. Only kind of though, because Morgan still edited it all before I put it on the site… So with that being said, here is the slightly less funny and Morgan approved telling of our story.

Every tale of love and romance has its beginning, and ours begins during a night of laughter and memories when I split my pants at Caroline’s wedding. Morgan was a bridesmaid, and I was a single young bachelor. Fate couldn’t have spun this tale any better.

After weeks of pining after Morgan, and being ignored, she finally agreed to go on a date with me. Besides her mother and father thinking I was trying to kidnap her, a story for another time, everything went extraordinarily well. Who would have thought the second date (pictured above) would have happened? Oh…. I DID.

It was fair to say that I was obsessed yes, but using my wit and charm I had truly entrapped Morgan as well. Not long into our relationship, COVID struck… and yet we didn't skip a beat. Following hours and hours of Facetime calls and quick visits after negative tests we made it out the other side.

I was able to be there when Morgan graduated from the University of Missouri with her undergraduate degree in Health Sciences. It was an extremely proud moment, and I was very confused when she started classes again a couple of weeks later…

It was at this point I realized I had begun to get a little doughy though, and Morgan was quite the opposite. I convinced her I started attending her 6AM cycling classes, which she instructed, because I wanted to be supportive, but my intentions were much more selfish…

We then journeyed to the great state of Colorado and went hiking and camping with some friends. I can certainly say if you ask either of us to sleep in a tent again anytime soon the answer will be no, but if you ask us to go free falling through the air from 10,000 feet it would be a resounding yes. Something we will both remember experiencing together for the rest of our lives.

Then it was my turn to walk across the stage and accept my diploma. It was an amazing time celebrating with friends and family. During my time at Mizzou I was able to learn a lot and make some amazing friends. It was the end of one chapter for me, and the beginning of new one.

Next we had our first trip together to the great land of Chicago. Just that short time being amongst skyscrapers and public transport we were already hooked. We had an amazing time, and when we departed we knew it wouldn’t be long before we were back for good.

We moved to Chi-City shortly after Morgan finished up with Physical Therapy grad-school. We had found an amazing apartment downtown and we moved all of our stuff in a week before Morgan graduated, a week into my new Cybersecurity job, and shortly after Morgan had passed her physical therapy board examination.

Days after Morgan accepted her diploma we were off to Italy! We greatly enjoyed the beautiful history and delicious foods of Rome, Salerno, and the Amalfi Coast. Amongst those foods was gelato, and as you can assume from the picture above we enjoyed a lot of it…

It was on this trip where pushing my luck I asked Morgan to marry me. Yes, before you ask, it was as spectacular and perfect as a proposal in Italy sounds… so, if you’re not engaged or married yet feel free to show them this as a hint…

And now, we are here. It’s the present and life couldn’t be better. Work is well, our apartment is amazing, and we still haven’t made it halfway through our Chicago restaurant list. We can’t wait to celebrate our future together with you all on September 21st 2024.
