Our story begins seven years ago in Ashland, Ohio. P was a freshman and I, a sophomore. Our paths didn't cross much that first semester at AU. P was a member of the Ashland Men's Golf team and I was on the AU Cheer Team, so we often ran in different circles... until we didn't.


The moment we finally crossed paths was at Delta Zeta's Semi-Formal. P's brother, Frankie, was also a member of Greek Life and was an attendee at the dance that year. Lucky for me, P decided to tag along. My best friend, Hailey, informed me the next day that Frankie's little brother thought I was cute... and it was in that moment that our college experience quickly became our love story.


Spring semester of 2017 felt like a dream. Our time together that spring consisted of days spent in Mohican, car rides listening to The Chainsmokers' new album (over and over again), all-nighters where our stomachs hurt from laughing so hard, hungover mornings spent at Convo, and memories that I know we'll cherish for the rest of our lives.


Fast forward to seven years later, P works at Huntington Private Bank and I teach at Highland High School. We live in Brecksville, Ohio with our sweet golden boy, Rory and to put it simply, life feels right. From the beginning of our relationship, we've taken on life together with a teammate mindset. We have each others' backs as teammates do. We encourage and support each other as teammates do. We hold each other accountable as teammates do. And there is no better teammate in the world than the one I have found in Patrick Steffen.
