Of all the things we've picked up online...
Morgan and George matched on Bumble on Friday, July 30th, 2021. Morgan was on the hunt for some live music, and George knew just the place to go to, the local Irish pub, O'Shea's, in Dennis. So they waited a bit to go on their first date, on Sunday, August 1st.
Sitting in the corner booth, they bonded over their love of Hamilton, their Australian shepherds, Sandy Neck beach, and hiking in NH. Talking for hours and enjoying the Irish folk music, George must've done something right, because Morgan agreed to more dates after that, including a hiking and camping trip in New Hampshire.
Through the months that followed, Morgan and George grew closer and closer. And even though the road to love isn't always a straight line, their bond remained strong.
That strong bond Morgan and George would both rely heavily on, as the summer of 2022 would be one with lots of changes and loss. Sadly, Morgan's parents were struck by a driver under the influence, and Morgan's father, Peter Reilly, passed away on June 16th, 2022.
George had just finished his last round of final exams as a teacher, and so they went up to Concord, NH stayed with friends, as they mourned and began the journey to recovery.
At the end of that summer, George moved off Cape Cod back to his home town looking for jobs as a chemist, and Morgan remained on Cape, to stay with her mother. Both got very familiar with I-495, and making what the kids call a "medium-distance" relationship work.
They filled their weekends with hikes, concerts, trips to a brewery, or (rarely) just a quiet weekend together.
Or more accurately, Morgan says "OMG, OMG, Yes!!"
In the summer of 2023, Morgan and George took a vacation to Acadia National Park. Morgan had an idea that maybe George was planning something special. She had more than just an idea when she told him she broke a nail on the ride up, and he hastily asked which finger and which hand. Fortunately for Morgan, it was her right index finger. Even more fortunately for George, Morgan said yes, when her took her other hand and asked her to remain together forever. On August 3rd, 2023, they began their first day promised for forever.💍
Now to the present! George and Morgan are busy getting ready for the big day on August 3rd, 2024. One year exactly from when they got engaged, and three years (and two days) from their first date.
We thank you for reading our story, and we can't wait to celebrate with you then! 💟
