While on Tinder that dating app, I finally came upon Marshall's profile. I saw his pictures of him farming, fishing and riding his 4-wheeler with his sister, Jac. I swiped right and apparently so did Marsh because here we are. After talking for about a month or so, we gave each other our snapchats and kept the conversation going. I finally asked him after a week or 2 asking him if he would like to go on date sometime (and YES I ASKED FIRST)! We decided to go to Peddlers Folk for a dinner. But before that day even came, Marshall was in Cedar Rapids at Sandlot playing on his friends recreational volleyball team. He asked if I wanted to come watch and I said yes. But of course as I got to the parking lot, I called Lyndee and was having a panic attack because I definitely thought he was going to be a serial killer (thanks Internet for scaring me). Lyndee was able to calm me down and I put on my big girl pants and walked right into the complex. He met me up front at the bar and took me back to the volleyball court. Of course they were down 1 person and Marshall's friend asked if I could play. I've played volleyball before so I thought how bad could I be... well the first time the ball was hit towards me, I ducked and covered my head with my hands and yelled I don't want to play anymore! Everyone laugh because they thought I was kidding but having a grown adult hitting a volleyball at my face was scarier than I thought. The rest of that night is history.
We met on a dating app and message back-and-forth for about three days before I was finally brave enough to ask Morgan for her Snapchat. After that we started snapping back-and-forth for I think about a week or two and I didn’t really know if I wanted to be in a relationship yet but I really really like her so one night we snap chatting and I left her on red and she sent me a Snapchat back asking if I would like to go on a date sometime and I felt like a bum because she asked me and I didn’t ask her and then I said absolutely but I have to pick where we go because I didn’t want to feel like she was the one that was lucky to get a date when I knew that I was. We had agreed that we go to peddlers Fork but before that I told her that I was playing volleyball in Marion and she showed up wearing joggers, tennis shoes, and a sweatshirt all black to match. I was going over to get some red apple ale from the bar with my buddy Daniel and I said I think that’s her coming over and she gave me a hug and that was the first time we hung out and it was an immediate connection, I swear I can feel in that moment that she was the one. I asked her to come to Iowa city with me and she got sick, classic Morgan
