Yes, there is an entrance fee to this national park. If you have a military ID the fee is waived. You are able to purchase a pass to the park in advance at https://www.nps.gov/shen/planyourvisit/fees.htm All events are planned to take place within the park. There are restaurants and fueling stations within the park as well.

Shenandoah State National Park has very small communities surrounding it. There is a drive of approximately 20+ minutes (depending on where outside of Shenandoah you book).
