Our wedding and reception will be at the Augusta Sailing Club and we are recommending a few housing options within close proximity to help you plan your stay.
The Hilton Garden Inn Augusta is where we chose to get a hotel block and have a post reception shuttle bus. Since the ceremony and reception are in a more remote location, this hotel is closer to the event than other hotels located in downtown Augusta. However, downtown Augusta has lots of little museums, shops, and the river walk to explore so it is totally up to you. There is also the scenic Mistletoe State Park and the Petersburg Campgrounds if you are looking for a more nature filled experience. However, keep in mind that we will only have a shuttle running to the Hilton Garden Inn Augusta after the reception.
Hilton Garden Inn Augusta
We have a room block reserved at the Hilton Garden Inn Augusta for May 17, 2024 through May 19, 2024. This hotel is located within walking distance of coffee shops and restaurants and has an indoor bar, indoor pool, and free parking.
Hotel check-in is at 3pm. The ceremony will be at 5pm on Saturday May 18th at the Augusta Sailing Club and is a 27min drive from the hotel. This allows over an hour to get checked in and changed/ relax before heading over to the ceremony if you would like to arrive the day of the ceremony. Or you're welcome to arrive the day prior if you feel you would like more time.

Mistletoe State Park Cottages
If you would like more of a nature experience, as opposed to a hotel experience, there are several two-bedroom cottages at Mistletoe State Park that are located along the water. Unfortunately, you cannot walk from the cottages to ceremony and reception at the Augusta Sailing Club. It is a 19 min drive. However, there are a lot of trails to explore in the area if you would like to hike in your free time! One of the big strips of trail is over 18 miles long, follows the edge of the lake roughly, and passes through the Augusta Sailing Club. It's a lot of pine forests primarily and part of the Bartram Trails. Use the alltrails app to check out hiking sites in the area.
*Please note:
These cottages fill up quickly. We will not be able to provide a shuttle to the cottages after the ceremony so you will have to drive yourself. Taxi and uber services will be unreliable in this remote area at the end of the reception.
Petersburg Campground
If you want to save money and have a very nature filled experience, there are also campgrounds nearby the Augusta Sailing Club where the reception will be held. The Bartram Trails do connect these campgrounds to the sailing club, but it's probably an hour and a half hike. Walking on the road is not safe so the trails would be the better bet. These campgrounds do have their own showers and toilets, but you still have to reserve your camping spot in advance. It's a 6min drive to the Augusta Sailing Club.
*Please note that we are only providing a shuttle at the end of the reception back to the Augusta Hilton Garden Inn. Someone may be able to provide a lift to the campgrounds after the reception, but it's not guaranteed.
