In June of 2012, both of us were out with friends on a Wednesday night in Buckhead (Welfare Wednesday of course) and luckily Nick had his best man Matt there to act as a wingman. We're pretty sure we exchanged numbers at the end of the night but really, who can be sure? A week later at yet another Welfare Wednesday, we ran into each other again. After this run-in, we decided to go out on a date. An ice-cream date at Jake's lasted around 3 hours, so long that my roommates were convinced I had been kidnapped. Plans for another date were proposed, but life got busy as it usually does and months went by without talking.On October 27th, Nick was with some friends at Hudson Grille for the Georgia/Florida game and I was there taking a break from work at Empire State South. Nick happened to step outside to talk on the phone with his dad and I caught a glimpse as I was headed back to work. Our timing was finally right and we started dating just a few days later!

How We Met

After seeing a great deal on flights to Europe, we decided that we would take a trip to Paris and London. We flew into London and took the Chunnel to Paris. On our first full day there, we decided we would wake up early and watch the sunrise at the Eiffel Tower. We hopped in an Uber and headed to the Champ de Mars, walking to Trocadero Square and eventually making our way to the Bir-Hakeim Bridge. Waiting at the Bir-Hakeim bridge was a photographer that Nick had hired to capture the moment and walk through the city with us afterwards. We spent the rest of the day walking the city, visiting the Louvre, and ending our day with a night river cruise along the Seine. We were able to spend the rest of our trip celebrating with delicious food, drinks, and taking in the beauty and culture of Paris and London. And Nick was able to relax on the Chunnel ride back, knowing there wasn't an engagement ring to worry about in his bag!

Katie and I have been friends since the 5th grade. While there was a bit of a rough patch in 6th grade when Katie didn't invite me to her birthday party, all was forgiven by 7th grade. Ever since then, our friendship has never faltered. Even attending different colleges, Katie and I have stayed close friends and were finally brought back together when Katie moved to Atlanta after school. Weekly Bachelor watching parties, dinner dates, and dog walks are how you'll find us together most of the time.

Matt and Nick went to high school together but didn't fall in love until they were searching for roommates for college. Matt was there as a wingman the night Nick and I met. As usual, he broke the ice while Nick stood there and smiled. Matt has been planning his best man speech for our wedding since he realized it was possible for someone else to love Nick more than him.

Jeff and Nick grew up playing tennis and living down the street from each other. They lost touch in college some, but picked right back up when they both moved to Atlanta. Jeff and Nick can be found being destructive together, shooting guns, and generally causing trouble.

Oh man. I made quite an impression on Hallie when I passed out at the host desk thirty minutes into my first shift at Empire State South. Quickly, we were the best of friends. Hallie has been front and center to experience Nick and my entire relationship. Nick knew it was a big deal when I was introducing him to Hallie and luckily she approved! Always there when I need her, Hallie is one of the greatest people I've ever met.

My oldest sister, Kristin, has always been like another mom to me. Always the person to tell me like it is, I've always admired Kristin's honesty. About 22 years ago, I was the flower girl at Kristin's wedding. She's a bit older now than I was at the time, so I figured bridesmaid was a bit more appropriate!

Mike(y) and Nick go way back. In fact, Nick was there the day Mike was born, excited to finally have a brother! As with any brother relationship, they've always enjoyed pushing each other's buttons. Mike has lived all over, China, Ohio, California, and now Florida, and Nick is excited to have him back in Atlanta as a groomsman.

My second oldest sister, Kathryn, is the person you can count on no matter what. Always protective, she made sure that Nick was good enough for me since day one. If her judgement wasn't good enough, her four boys have made it clear that Nick is the best thing ever! She's always there for whatever you need her for, so of course I'll need her on the big day!

Derreck is Nick's brother-in-law. Everyone often talks about how similar Nick and Derreck are because of their entrepreneurial spirit, love of the outdoors, and documentaries.

Nick and Jason have known each other since 6th grade. They are co-authors of a book about Richard Hull (aka a school project). They attended high school and college together and now hang out frequently even though Jason loves sports and Nick... well, doesn't.

The sister closest in age to me, Shannon has always been a confidant of mine. We've spent a week in Costa Rica together fighting off bugs, bats, and frogs. What's possibly more impressive is that she survived a week in Panama City for my senior spring break with me and my other bridesmaid Stephanie. I know I can always count on her!

Stephanie and I met in 8th grade and became best friends after sharing homeroom, gym, Spanish class, and a locker Freshman year of high school. Some of my favorite and funniest memories involve Stephanie and I know she'll bring that to my wedding day. I've always said my goal was to marry a man who found me as funny as Stephanie does and that's hard to do so Nick is as close as we could get! Also, we take some of the best pictures together.

Nick and Justin have been friends since college. They recently went on a 90 mile bike ride together and have always enjoyed the outdoors. Nick and Morgan actually spent their first Valentine's Day together with Justin, picking up a cabinet from Craigslist and eating frozen pizza.

Nick and Cesar met in Athens while Nick attended UGA and became great friends. Cesar has always been a friend that Nick can count on, even with Nick now in Atlanta and Cesar in Athens.

I met Lisa when she started dating Nick's best friend Jeff. I constantly find myself saying "I'm so glad Jeff is with Lisa" because she's one of those people you just HAVE to be friends with. She's another one of those people who you can count on for anything. You never expect to find a best friend through your boyfriend's best friend's girlfriend (fiance) but that's exactly what happened!

The hotels in Midtown are located just 20 minutes from the airport. We recommend taking Uber or Lyft. You can also take Marta from right inside the airport on the gold line to Midtown Station, which takes about 25 minutes. From there, it's about a 10-15 minute walk to the hotels.

Located just blocks from where we will be staying, this is another great option in a great location!

One of our favorite things to do in the city is walk and bike the Beltline. There are tons of spots to stop along the way for a cocktail, food, and shopping. We're hoping the weather will be nice enough for everyone! To rent bikes there are a few options. Relay stations are scattered throughout the city and you can find them <a href="http://relaybikeshare.com/">here.</a> You can also rent from <a href="http://skateescape.com/site/bicycles/">Skate Escape</a>, which is walking distance from the Midtown hotels and located right by the park.

Bike the Beltline 

Located on the Beltline, Ponce City Market is a great place for food, drinks, and shopping. Some of our favorite restaurants there are H&amp;F Burger, Ton Ton, Hop's Chicken, Biltong Bar, and The Mercury. Depending on the weather, there is also a great rooftop with Skyline Park and Nine Mile Station.
