The story of us began fall semester junior year at Point Loma Nazarene. By God's great mercy, the most beautiful woman I had ever seen sat on the left side of my Business Communications class. My "Future Life" class presentation needed to be flawless in order to get a chance to speak with this girl. Thankfully, she thought the part about my SUV with golf clubs in the back taking the kids to school was comical. I mustered up the courage to ask her if she wanted to study for the upcoming exam together. Before I knew it, we were study partners. I was obsessively attracted to Morgan and seized any opportunity I could to hang out with her. Not wanting to pursue anything too fast to scare her away, I played "hard to get" but was dying on the inside for an actual non-friend zone date. Morgan loves travelling, and that spring decided to study abroad in Ireland. My hopes of calling this woman my girlfriend were crushed. It didn't help she rejected my request for our first kiss before she left. I'd have to wait. Spring semester was tough without Morgan, but Skype calls, emails, and Facebook messages allowed us to keep in touch.. I couldn't wait for senior year to begin. Although we got off to somewhat of an awkward start due to the distance and time apart, I knew deep down I loved Morgan. I couldn't believe myself when I discovered the news she would be living less than a stone's throw away from my dorm. I was more excited about the opportunity of having a bedroom window where I could see her walk to class everyday than the full ocean view! What followed was one of the most memorable semesters of college. Morgan and I started "unofficially" dating which included exploring December nights in Balboa, (seriously) competitive tennis matches, skating in downtown parking structures, lighting fireworks on campus, ditching real estate class to head to the beach… this girl was something else! She pushed me out of my "type A" comfort zone and challenged me in areas I would've never known I could grow. I was on top of the world knowing the coolest girl on campus liked an accounting nerd. We made it official February 11, 2012 and I got my first kiss under the downtown starlight after an unforgettable date at the Spaghetti Factory. We graduated three months later and began to soak in the reality that making things work long-term (and long distance) would be more difficult than seeing each other on campus every day. No more meetups for late night talks, no more cafeteria dates, no more business events to save each other's seat for, no more chapels to secretly hold hands, it was going to be different. But it was in that time our relationship took a whole new depth and purpose.Although hundreds of miles apart, my love for Morgan grew stronger everyday. Morgan has allowed me to experience and understand God's unconditional love by loving me exactly as I am. She encourages me to be the man God created me to be, a strong, supportive husband and future loving father. When I proposed to Morgan in the very spot we first held hands on Point Loma's campus, I felt overwhelming joy. I was determined not to cry, but I did. I couldn't believe the incredible love story God led us through; marrying my best friend was too good to be true.. She is beautiful, she is honorable, she is my perfect angel. I am humbled at the opportunity of marrying the woman of my dreams, the woman who caught my eye, and the woman I will forever hold.I love you Morgan,Tony

Love Story - Tony's Version

I first noticed Tony in our Business Communication class. We had to give a speech about where we see ourselves in 5 and 10 years. There was something about his large and impressive smile and a picture he was painting about life - about throwing the golf clubs in the back of the car and heading to the beach after church that captured my attention. The life he talked about was a life I also wanted. Next thing I knew Tony came into the business center where I worked almost weekly to print out business cards. I thought he and his friend had a crush on my boss but I later found out it was all just a story to cover for the fact that they came and visited me at work so much. As I prepared to go study abroad in Ireland, Tony told me he liked me. The timing wasn't right as I was about to leave the country, so we departed as friends. When I came back to Point Loma the following school year, Tony (unknown to me) had secretly organized to be in all the same classes as me. I call this his secret pursuit which worked perfectly for me, because I've always made decisions that involved my heart with lots of prayer and usually lots of time (requiring lots of patience from the man who would eventually capture my whole heart). The first time I saw Tony back at school after 10 months he asked me to go to church, and I was pleasantly surprised that a man would choose church to be our first outing after not seeing each other in so long. It struck me in such a great way. I remember us talking after church and I communicated I still was not ready to be in a relationship. In the days following, I couldn't stop thinking about him. I ended up writing a 3 page document of all the things I liked about him. I remember sitting there reading my document about all these wonderful things I adored about him and thinking, "Why did I just tell this guy I'm not ready for a relationship?!" So, I started writing him letters (I didn't actually give them to him, yet) but it was a way to process my feelings while I was still in my long process of prayer about it. We played tennis frequently and met up most nights to chat about our days. I even convinced Tony to ditch class with me once when I heard he had never done that before (sorry to the professors reading this!). Once I finally knew I was ready to stop processing through prayers and undelivered letters, we were sitting at the spot where he eventually proposed and I told him I couldn't stop thinking about him. Before I could say anything else he held my hand and told me he had been waiting to hear that. It was in that moment it hit me - a man would wait for me no matter how long it took me to be ready. Tony is the most patient and loving man for me. A few months later he asked me to be his girlfriend and played me a song he wrote for me on guitar.After graduation a few months later we had to go from living 30 seconds apart to 8 hours apart. Though a long-distance relationship was tough, it really made me realize how much I trusted Tony and yearned for his presence after we parted. It also forced us to focus on ourselves, which ultimately made us better for each other. When I felt prompted to move back to San Diego, it was hard to leave San Jose but I had a great peace about it and felt the Lord saying, "Trust me Morgan - I want to give you the greatest desires of your heart". So, I moved, and 1 year later we were engaged. I am truly grateful to be marrying my best friend, this humble man who, at the core of his heart, wants me to have everything I want in life. He pursues God and encourages me in so many ways that help me be the best version of me. He accepts me for who I am and loves me for me. I can't wait to live with Tony and share the rest of our lives together!

Megan is my sister and best friend. I've never known a world without my sister in it and I could never imagine it any other way. Megan has been a role model for me and has helped me be and achieve so much that I want and have in life. She knows how to encourage me better than anyone else and naturally knows what I need more than anyone else. She celebrates me better than anyone else. I love you sissy and am thankful for your true friendship and wisdom!

Jordan Paul Dial, Slim JD, the Underestimated JD, this guy has seen me at my best and worst and has stuck with me like a brother. They say, "if you can't beat 'em, join 'em." Jordan and I compete in all aspects of life: every sport you can think of, fastest man to down 10 pot stickers, who can catch the bigger fish (or any fish), you name it. Needless to say, I couldn't keep up with this guy's mad handles on the soccer field or basketball court, musical talent, or stealing my middle school crushes, so I decided to make him my best friend. Turns out this guy ended up being the spiritual leader, devoted friend, and source of encouragement to not only me but the hundreds of young athletes he coaches each year. I am honored to have Jordan stand by my side as he has supported my relationship with Morgan from Day 1.

Some of the best things about Jason "Chill" Wall (besides his smokin' hot bod as clearly portrayed below) are the fact that he embodies a Christ-like character, is a loving husband to an amazing wife, and a studly father to two young boys. Did I mention he also defends our country in his F-35 fighter jet? Jason has served boldly in the air force defending our great nation with two overseas deployments and over a decade of service.  I am humbled at his sacrifice.  Jason and Jen exemplify the family Morgan and I want to pattern; one with patience, purpose, and persistence.  I am proud to call J my future brother-in-law and am so thankful for his love and support. I finally get the brother I've always wanted!

Carly is Tony's older sister and I couldn't be more excited to have such a kind, supportive, Godly, and talented sister-in-law. She can sing like no one else, hike like no one else, and love and respect others like no one else. I don't think I've ever heard her speak negatively about anyone - there's not one mean bone in her body! She has welcomed me into her family from the very first moment I met her and I will forever be grateful for that.

Christy is Tony's younger sister and I've had so many fun memories with her already. I knew she would be the one I'll always be able to count on for fun family adventures the second she jumped into a floating kid's pool in the ocean with me to watch fireworks at 4th of July. Despite her youthful fun spirit, she also has a depth to her that makes her a rare diamond -  I'm thankful for her sweet heart and zest for life.

Easy Ladies...this one's taken! Don't let his stunning looks distract you from the fact this guy is an absolute animal on any sports field. When I look for someone to come down with the last second Hail Mary pass, you can bet your bottom dollar it will be Ham. Matt has been a strong accountability partner and inspiration in my life. His passion for Christ and love for his wife make me look forward to marriage. Matt and Liz have been strong prayer warriors and encouraging support for Morgan and my  engagement period and we are excited to enter this next phase of life with them.

Jennifer is my sister-in-law, married to my brother Jason, and a wonderful mother to my two nephews. Jen is a wonder woman, somehow managing to be a present loving mother, loyal and fun wife, volunteering barista at  her church, and a highly valued employee at one of the largest companies - ALL at the same time! Jennifer has a genuine gentle care for me, remembering and asking about important events in my life and  wanting the best for me.

My man Ryan Nokes was my first friend who welcomed me into the Young (PLNU dorm) clan. I knew as a Hendricks (rival dorm) kid it wouldn't be easy to be accepted into the tribe, but Ryan ensured I was included as one of the boys.  That day nearly eight years ago started a friendship to last a lifetime. Ryan is an includer, leader, and disciplined scholar who will be the first (and most likely only) one of us to land his Ph.D. I am stoked for Ryan to seal the deal with the woman of his dreams (just a few weeks after our wedding) and am blessed to walk through the engagement season with him.

Kayla has been one of my best friends since we met in history class in high school and planned a group of friends to go to our homecoming dance together. She's one of those rare people who will always be there for me when times are tough AND who will always celebrate my successes when times are great. I know I can tell her anything I'm thinking at any time and she'll never judge my thoughts.

Yes it's Austen with an E. Collegiate athlete, genius engineer, musical talent, downtown aristocrat, and America lover, Austen is an all around (Big) Baller. He also made a clutch move in proposing to a CPA.  Football games with the boys are always fun... until Austen shows up...with cleats. Austen has seen Morgan and my story unfold from the beginning and I am thankful for his consistency in our lives. I am excited for his wedding with Danielle and feel blessed to have gone through this engagement period at the same time.

Whitney is the perfect friend for me as we share so many of the same passions! She challenges me in her crafting abilities and makes sure I know the latest and greatest crafts, she joins me on rugged backpacking wilderness adventures, encourages me spiritually, and breaks it down with me when we feel like busting out some ghetto hip hop moves. I love that our friendship can be youthful and fun yet deep and personal. She has a genuine desire to see me thrive in life and I'm so thankful our older sisters introduced us that first day of  high school.

If you need some good laughs in your life, make sure to grab a chance to talk to this guy at the wedding. Hussey has developed into quite the driven man, accelerating his career in HR. His tightly knit Hawaiian fam has rubbed off on his genuine personality, slightly pigeon dialect, and generous hospitality (he makes the meanest miso soup in town). Watching his relationship with Drea develop into an amazing marriage has been a great example of what God-centered love is. In fact, their marriage has been such a positive influence in my life that I decided to get down on one knee in the same spot he did! 

Jon Hussey

Everyone has that one friend that blows their mind away. Matt is that friend. Purchasing multiple houses a few years out of college, becoming President for one of the most famous hedge fund managers in America, finishing more marathons than fingers can count, and defying all things "norm" you would expect from a recent college grad, he is one of my most inspiring friends. Despite all these achievements, Matt is so evidently grounded in Christ and maintains his humble perspective of how he approaches his love and care for others. Matt has been there for me since day 1 at PLNU and I know I have a friend I can count on for life in him.

I've known Polina since we were on a  middle school cheer team together in 6th grade. She's always proved to be a source of laughter in my life - I never leave her without having smiled during the time I spent with her. Distance has never stopped the closeness of our friendship and we've always managed to see each other, even if it means only 30 minutes ;) We've also gotten to go on family trips together (planned--&gt;Hawaii and accidentally--&gt;Hawaii again) which brought some amazing lifelong memories. 

Polina ("Pdizzle") Brodsky

Emily and I met in a small group at church in 6th grade and naturally hit it off right away! Emily has always been the friend that said "yes" when everyone else said "no". Her zesty spirit is infectious and makes her so much fun! I learned to cook because of this girl - every week we tried new recipes before watching the Bachelor together and then having a sleepover. I'm so thankful for her friendship and support over the years - even when it meant driving all the way to San Diego during college to attend my birthday parties!

Kelson James defines passion. Passion for God, passion for his wife Katie, passion for the Warriors, passion for his job, passion for his family, this guy has inspired me in so many ways. I am proud to call Kelson my friend and am lucky to have such a solid man to stand next to on my wedding day. Kelson has been there for me to talk through the tough times and make the fun times unforgettable. His wisdom is beyond his years and his tenacity for life is contagious to everyone around him. I respect Kelson for who he is, how he treats others, how he loves his wife, and what he represents.

Danny is one of those guys you wish you knew back in high school.  Semi-nerdy but in a cool kinda way and wit like none other.  A passionate love for his killer pitbull (mugshot shown below) and a work ethic that gets the job done right, every time.  His engineering mind is already getting him far in life, but not as far as he would've ever got without my future sister-in-law.  Danny and I have one great thing in common, we married into the best family.  Danny and Megan's love story is one of fervent pursuit, unending love, and drive for the best life God laid out for them.  I am honored to have my future brother share God's Word from his heart at our wedding and for Lakeside's finest (his beautiful daughter Summer) to come down as our honorary flower girl.      

Danny Downs

I first met Miranda when she came to the rescue to pick up my roommate and I who rode our bikes pretty far and got stuck. Her nickname comes from her genuine care for people and her nurturing spirit. I lived with her for 2 years and loved the adventures we went on together. From the day I started dating Tony, she kept asking me if I loved him. The day I realized I loved him, she was one of the first people I told! These days we have been spending our time together crafting and planning our weddings - it's so fun to be in a season of engagement together!! 

Miranda ("Momiranda") Brunson

Casey went to San Diego state and we quickly convinced her to come to Point Loma and live with us in an apartment and be a part of the "Blonde Squad". She was the only roommate who allowed me to cuddle with her. Casey is one of the funniest friends I have yet she also has the type of presence where you can just open up to her right away (no wonder she is a great counselor!) Tony asked her permission amongst a few others when he wanted to ask me to be his girlfriend in college - thankfully she said yes! :)

Aiden &amp; Caleb Wall are my future nephews, the sons of Jason &amp; Jen Wall.  Shown below are the boys proudly skipping in unison as their dad pulls out his primary vehicle from the driveway.  These healthy boys have the best parents, some amazing genes, and quite the smarts as they were reciting the alphabet out of the womb and prefer kale shots over chocolate milk.  I couldn't be more proud to have these cute kids as my nephews even though the eldest almost spoiled my engagement surprise!

Arielle and I met walking to Bible class freshman year of college by her yelling "Hey girl hey!" Though I hated that phrase, I quickly grew to love this girl and the way I always felt refreshed every time I saw her. We created dances to help us study for tests and as we've gotten older, we've shared out hearts through some of life's best and worst times. She is truly one of the most positive and spontaneous people I know!

Hilary has an infectious and fun spirit - this is what made me want to be friends with her as soon as I met her in high school! We also bonded through debates in our Government class where it was us verse the class (we usually won). She has been a wonderful friend and supporter through life. She is very consistent, always herself no matter who or where she is. I love that I always know the friendship I have in Hilary. She is  the strongest and most independently-suffient person I know, nothing is "impossible" for Hilary and I love that about her! 

Hilary (Albers) Lane

I adore these beautiful little girls! Every time they smile they capture my heart. Summer is my beautiful neice, the daughter of my sister Megan and Danny, and the queen of Lakeside. We were at the hospital when she was born and have had the privilege of watching her grow. I'm proud to say that Tony and I were technically her first babysitters while her parents ran to get fro-yo. Making her smile is my favorite because she has the world's cutest smile.Elora is the daughter of my cousin Casey and Trisha. She is a beautiful little girl who knows all of the Hawaiian words and traditions (cocobut) thanks to her parents, even though she's growing up in Texas. I saw her walk down the stairs for the first time and she started dancing around with a huge cute smile on her face. I'm so excited to have her as our flower girl!

I've known Ashly since 6th grade as we shared a love for volleyball and soccer. When I first met her I remember thinking "She's SO pretty and I want to be her friend". Luckily, she became one of my best friends. I always described Ashly as the type of rare friend who would let you sit next to the boy that you BOTH thought was cute. I had the privilege of being her Maid of Honor at her wedding and now watching her become an amazing mother to her daughter Riley. She's one of the most self-less people I know.

Jodi is one of my longest best friends. We met in 6th grade while our Dad's coached our softball team together and I soon found my biggest adventure buddy. There was never a thing that Jodi thought was too crazy to try, which proved for lots of fun adventures together. Jodi and I also grew a lot in our faith together, and she knows the depths of my heart better than most people do - I know we will have a lifelong kindred friendship.
