Preparing for the day: Maps and recommendations for getting to the boat are on our "The Cruise" page. Please make a game plan ahead of time -- the docks are right downtown and will be hopping!
We love Stillwater so much, and couldn't think of a better place for this party. It's a gorgeous area, and we hope folks will make the most of the trip and explore while they are in town this weekend.
We'll be staying in Stillwater all weekend. Below these pictures are links to things we'll be doing that weekend, and other things we think our friends and family would enjoy, too!
Gondola Romantica on the St. Croix does gondola rides all weekend long. Cross this off your bucket list when you're in town!
The homes in Stillwater are some of the oldest in the area and have been kept in pristine condition. It is a huge part of what gives Stillwater its charm. Stillwater Trolley offers 45-minute historical tours of the mansions that used to belong to the area's lumber barons, the sights of the river valley, and more! With how bustling Stillwater is, these guided tours are a great way to see the town without having to drive it all yourself.
Honestly, there are too many options to list. Below are just a few, but definitely hop on Yelp, Google, Facebook, TikTok, or Instagram to find other cool places to check out!
The Freight House (across the street from the Water Street Inn)
Lift Bridge Brewing (their root beer is one of our all-time favorite drinks)
Charlie's Pub (we've shared great Guinness together here!)
Stillwater is on the border of Minnesota and Wisconsin, so its proximity to state parks on both sides of the river is definitely worth a short outing to explore! Check out the Willow Falls and Willow River Gorge in Willow River State Park, or the other parks nearby!
Blueberry farms, apple orchards, wineries, oh my! This is not an exhaustive list, so check out more options if you'd like:
With trails surrounding the river, crossing bridges, and winding through the scenery around Stillwater, the trails in this area are top-rated and come with award-winning views! Discover Stillwater has maps available and links to websites that will help you easily plan one of these activities while you're in town.
If you're able, walking up and down Main Street is all you have to do to access most of its shops. There are some stores tucked into the side streets right off of Main Street as well. Water Street Inn is at the center of it all, but there is parking everywhere if you're coming from a different hotel or AirBNB.
Below are three places we frequent when we are in town, but there are sooo many stores in town.
Midtown Antiques: She's a big one -- you will lose hours in here and it will be amazing. One of our favorite antique stores we've ever been to.
Tremblay's Sweet Shop: We think... this is what heaven on Earth is? We never leave Stillwater without stopping here.
