Our Wedding

When we met at a church life group Super Bowl party in February 2022, I (Morgan) was unavailable at the time, and I made that very clear...If you know Drake, you know he loves giving hugs to just about anyone, whether he's known you for a long time or he's just met you. I did not know that at the time. When it was time to leave, Drake asked me if I wanted a hug or a handshake, to which I replied, "Neither, but I can fist bump you, dude!" We fist bumped, but when I did the whoosh part, Drake didn't do it, so I said, "You didn't do the whoosh thing!" Then he did the whoosh part, but it was clear he wanted to be done with the interaction. Little did we know, that was only the beginning...

How We Met

Over the next few months, we developed a friendship through the young adults ministry at Bellevue, our church. With some help from mutual friends, we realized we were both interested in more than friendship, but we had some miscommunications before moving forward. Finally, Drake asked me to go get boba tea one Sunday, and we cleared up our miscommunications and clarified how we felt about each other. After awhile on September 9th, 2022, Drake officially asked me to be his girlfriend, and we've been together ever since!

How Our Relationship Began

Our Valentine's Day this year got postponed a week, but it was worth the wait! After church on Sunday, I met Drake at his apartment. When I walked in, there were rose petals on the floor leading to the dining room table. There were rose petals in the shape of a heart on the table, and my present was in the heart--a pink hoodie with our dating anniversary in gold thread. Drake took me to Olive Garden, our favorite restaurant, and then he took me to get boba tea, where we had our first date. After eating, Drake took me to Dave and Buster's for arcade games before heading back to his apartment.Throughout the day, Drake would give me little decorative boxes with a chocolate truffle and a sweet handwritten note inside each one. When we got back to his apartment, Drake had me open the last truffle box. The note inside said, "I have one more special surprise for you--stand up, turn around, and close your eyes." I did, and when I turned back around, he was down on one knee with the engagement ring, and he asked me to marry him! And of course I said yes! Now we are looking forward to spending the rest of our lives together! :)
