The dress code for our wedding is cocktail attire (suits - tie or no tie, dress shirt with tie, mid-length cocktail dresses, floor-length gowns, jumpsuits). Please also note there's a gravel path to the ceremony space, we highly recommend wearing blocked heels and not stiletto heels.
WHERE SHOULD GUESTS PARK?
Retreat 21 has a large lot right out front of the venue, there will be ample free parking for guests. Guest may even leave their cars overnight, if needed, but should pick them up by 10 am the following day.
WILL THE CEREMONY AND RECEPTION BE INDOORS OR OUTDOORS?
Weather permitting, the ceremony will be outdoors and the reception will be indoors. Both are held at Retreat 21. Please dress accordingly.
CAN I BRING A DATE/CHILD?
Our wedding is strictly RSVP only. We will only be able to accommodate those listed on your invitation/RSVP Page. To allow all guests to relax and enjoy themselves, we have chosen to limit our ceremony and reception to adults and adolescents ages 13+. We thank you for understanding and respecting our decision.
DO YOU HAVE A HOTEL BLOCK FOR GUESTS? WHERE DO YOU RECOMMEND I STAY?
Yes! We reserved Hampton Inn Marysville for our hotel block. Additionally, Retreat 21 has 7 luxury cabins on site that holds up to 4 guests per cabin (2 queen beds, open, loft-style floor plan), which we get priority reservation for Sunday evening. Please let Kevin or My know if you're interested in staying there. Please see 'Hotel' tab for more details.
WHERE ARE YOU REGISTERED?
Please see our registry tab for more details. Alternatively, if you would like to join us in celebrating our Chinese/Vietnamese culture, you may gift us a red envelope ("hóngbāo"/"li xi").
WHAT IS A RED ENVELOPE (HONGBAO/LI XI)?
Red is an auspicious, lucky color in Chinese/Vietnamese culture. Red envelopes with cash or checks are traditionally given to the couple during the reception as gifts. The giving of red envelopes is a way to symbolically bestow happiness, luck and good wishes to the couple.
If you choose to gift a red envelope, please remember to write your name on the back of the envelope so we know who to address our Thank You note to!
