Hello! Welcome to our wedding website! 

We are so happy you’re here, thank you for all of your patience in the unknowingness of our wedding celebration! We got married on October 18, 2025 in the Catholic Church, and from here we planned around Luke’s Navy schedule to create a wonderful wedding celebration in Ventura, California! Please continue praying for us and this whole planning time because we need it! We love you all so much and feel free to look through this website!

Our Wedding

Mya and Luke first met their sophomore fall (October 2022) at Franciscan University in Ohio. After hanging out with their friends all together a few times, specifically a dinner with good friend and groomsman, Jeremiah Rohall in June 2023, Mya and Luke were inseparable friends.Mya and Luke hung out every day after that dinner after Luke asked her to have margaritas with him at a picnic bench. He even took her to Pontiac, Illinois, and then Milwaukee, Wisconsin for her 20th birthday to see one of her best friends and bridesmaid Lucy Gutierrez.Most days after that, they would go on "coffee and debriefs", he had asked her to be his date to his household events, and they did basically everything together, including Sunday mass every week.On December 3rd, 2023, Luke texted Mya and said "we need to talk" which made Mya freak out, just to then hear from him a message/poem he wrote to ask her out on a date before the semester was over.From that point on, we turned a strong friendship into an even stronger relationship, to being engaged and now married!

Mya and Luke's Meeting and Timeline Story

In December 2024, just one year after Luke and Mya started dating, he had a few phone conversations with her mom, about asking for her hand in marriage. Knowing her and her passion for her faith, she had many questions for him too, making sure they really truly were prepared to enter into a lifetime promise and Sacrament together soon after these conversations.He bought the ring that same month. Here started his plans to propose, unbeknownst to Mya. Luke showed her mom and sisters, then a few of each of their best friends, one month later. He chose the date he would propose in February just before meeting Mya's final sibling that he had yet to meet, Sierra and her boyfriend Ben. (It was very important to Mya that he meet all of her immediate family before proposing)Luke had told Mya he had a household retreat in Pittsburgh, and she came along by her own will thinking she would sit at a coffee shop all day doing homework until he was done, then their date would start. He then took her to St. Mary of the Mount Catholic Church in Pittsburgh, PA and to an overlook just across the street. Mya was suspicious at this point that he may propose, but it didn't't seem that way quite yet.While looking over the Overlook, Luke turned Mya around and said "Wouldn't it be funny if I proposed right now?" to which Mya's response was "No, wouldn't it be funny if I proposed right now?" and pretended to kneel. Then Luke started telling Mya all these amazing things and went on until he got down on one knee. She then also dropped to her knees, then stood back up, and excitedly said yes!It was the perfect proposal. They went into the church to pray, and saw two women praying in the only open space in the back of the church. When they went outside, Mya started to cry and the ladies walked out, asked if they just got engaged, and Mya bawled after hearing one of the ladies laugh, realizing that it was her older sister, Sierra and her mom, Linda. Then Luke's parents, Liby and Monte came out and Ben, Sierra's boyfriend.When our friend and bridesmaid Julia Cundiff came to take photos the worst possible situation happened. Luke dropped the ring off the 50 ft overlook. Long story short, an hour and a half later, BEN FOUND IT!We then had a meal and a perfect surprise party with our closest friends and family who came!

Mya and Luke's Engagement Story

On October 18, 2025, we got married in the Catholic Church! Due to the extenuating circumstances of Luke joining the Navy Nurse Corps through Officer Development School (ODS), we had no idea when we could plan a wedding, all while being 1,690 miles apart. This was a long, hard decision that we believe suited us best. After notifying our extended family and friends about this decision, we were so blessed to be seen with great love, support, understanding, and excitement to celebrate when we could!At the end of November 2025, Luke was told he was going to ODS in January 2026! He completed his training in Rhode Island in February, and we are now in Great Lakes, North Chicago for 36 months. Luke is thriving as a Navy nurse, and Mya is working as a Direct Support Professional with adults with developmental disabilities.Fun fact: We got a dog on December 9th, her name is Tequila Morrissette, she's a border collie mix!We love you so much!

Mya and Luke's Marriage So Far

Our Story

Begin with prayer! Pray for Mya and Lukas as we continue our marriage through working, the military, time apart etc. Our engagement was a blessed and beautiful time, and we were so lucky to be met with support and love. Continue praying for us to grow closer to God and each other while building the foundation to the rest of our lives!

Dress Code

There will be a lot of dancing so make sure you can get down in your outfits!
