Our Wedding

Our story... You will definitely get a different answer depending on who you ask.Hi, Myra here! I personally like to joke with people when they ask how we met. I say, you won't believe it! We were two straight, cradle Catholics, who met at San Diego's Pride Parade. Obviously, it couldn't be more meant to be! What first meeting story could make for a better smile and laugh!?

Our Story by The Future Mr. & Mrs. Day

We met July 15th, 2023 working in the medical tent together at Pride San Diego because Myra needed her nursing hours for her BSN, and I wanted to get a little side-hustle money as an EMT. Never would I have imagined meeting a beautiful, intelligent, and faithful woman. I first laid eyes on her as she arrived to the medical tent from picking up a patient needing attention, blaring her bull-horn because of how crowded it was. I turn around thinking who in the heck is blaring that obnoxious horn. As I see who is holding the horn, my first thought in my head was, "Oh it's ok, never mind, she's really cute." We then proceeded to chat throughout the day, getting to know one another without skipping a beat.As the day turned into night and the end of my shift neared, I really wanted to ask Myra for her number, but I was in the middle of handing off my patient to her. Little did I know, at the time, she felt the same way. After giving her the hand off in front of the patient, she said, "It was really nice meeting you. And since I feel we are at that point..." She handed me a folded piece of paper with her name and number on it (to this day I still have that little piece of paper). After a quick hug, I immediately texted her once I return to the house I was staying at. She and I texted late into the night, and well, the rest is history.

First Thoughts

We proceeded to text daily, then talk (which was new for me), and have FaceTime dates. Eventually, when the timing lined up, we had our first date half way in Carlsbad in August 2023. We made so many wonderful memories and time just flew by. I couldn't wait to see her again, that we made sure to schedule our next date.We met each other the following weekend at Stampede to line dance and celebrate my birthday. Myra went out of her way to make me feel special with my favorite cake, balloons, and a little gift. It was the most thoughtful birthday surprise I have ever experienced. I already knew she was special, this just thoroughly confirmed it.My turn! I knew Justin was special when I found out I found a handsome, kind, and compassionate Catholic at Pride. The moment I knew that he truly was everything I was looking for was on my birthday when he made it super special to take me out for dinner, then put together a party at the beach the next day. It was the most loving and thoughtful birthday gift I had ever received.

Instant Connection

Since 2023, we have been through our fair share of ups and downs. We have managed living long distance, multiple job changes, health issues, financial hurdles, and moving out of our family homes into our own. Also, we have enjoyed going to concerts, road trips, staycations, line dancing, visiting family and friends, and a lot of firsts.Some favorite firsts: meeting in Newport Beach and not calling it a date, accidentally walking into a retirement home thinking it was a hotel on our first date, line dancing at Stampede for our second date where we had our first kiss, attending our first concert, Connor Smith where Justin and I learned the value lesson of how not to dip your partner too far, spending holidays with each other's families, graduating with my bachelor's degree in nursing, Justin accepting the promotion of Deputy Fire Marshall in Redlands, accepting a Quality RN position in outpatient care, and getting engaged during our favorite, longest, and furthest trip in Washington D.C. and New York.

Cheers to the Changes

We are so blessed that each of you have been a part of Our Story. Myra and I cannot wait to celebrate our union and commitment to God with you in May. It means so much to us knowing that each of you hold a special place in our hearts as we enter into the next chapter of our story! We love you! God bless!

Wedding Party

Church appropriate attire requested. This includes suits, slacks with button up shirts (ties are optional), knee-length dresses, and jumpsuits. Though not required, we encourage our guests to wear any shade of BLUE as a connection to the wedding party and to participate with us in our celebration. Please note that the Mission contains uneven, terracotta tile flooring and the reception will be held on grass outside. Please dress with this in mind, and see our website for further details.

We believe this pick is great to get to and from all the wedding festivities and allows for some quiet before the business of the celebrations. It is conveniently located near two major freeways along with multiple malls, eateries, and more. Great area to go enjoy some good coffee, food, and shopping!

San Diego Marriott Mission Valley

This one is located in Mission Valley's hotel circle, which is a great option if you wish to be more central in the San Diego action: The Zoo, Downtown, multiple beaches and much more!

Hilton San Diego Mission Valley

This hotel is located near the Marriott one listed above which is wonderfully positioned closer to the wedding festivities, along with being right off the freeway.
