Like many love stories, Nadia and Kyle's story started with a simple handshake, but unlike those others, theirs started without shoes. On June 4th, 2022, Nadia and Kyle were introduced at a mutual friend’s apartment in Addison, Texas, where their shoes were respectfully removed at the door. They spent the evening with new and old friends at a festival, now known as “Taste of Nadia” (shoes on, of course). Everyone could see that the chemistry between the two was palpable, but Kyle overindulged, and the pair’s eventual relationship was delayed. A fun night turned awkward, but after several months of continually running into each other at their local bar, a relationship started to form. Awkward waves and stiff greetings slowly turned into smiling, flirting, dancing, and getting to know each other, and as Summer turned to Fall, their relationship started to bloom; Kyle took Nadia out on their first date on November 20th, 2022. Nadia was so nervous that she wore her pants inside out. After dinner, they walked to Renaissance and sat in the corner of the bar looking at the beautiful Christmas lights and talking for hours.

Since that first date, the pair have been inseparable and have spent every day together. No matter how many times Nadia may trip or stumble, Kyle is always there to tie her classic white sneakers, and whatever Kyle goes through, Nadia is his rock and their love and dedication to each other is undeniable. The first night Nadia was out of town, Kyle couldn’t sleep without knowing she was

nearby, and the pair did not go a day without saying “I love you.”

On their first anniversary last November, Kyle took Nadia to Austin to celebrate and booked the same hotel they first stayed in on their first romantic getaway together. Nadia had a feeling something special was going on that night, so after dinner, they made their way back to the room to put away leftovers, but when Nadia opened the door, she saw a champagne bottle waiting for them on ice. When she turned to Kyle in surprise, he was down on one knee, the ring held out to her, with his eyes tearing and his voice shaking slightly. Just like their love, Kyle’s proposal wasn’t strictly traditional, and before popping the question, he told her how he’d love nothing more than to spend the rest of his life tying her shoes. Tearing up herself, Nadia accepted, and the couple couldn’t wait to share the news with family and friends.

Though their path hasn’t been a conventional one, the world has brought them together. Nadia’s spiciness and Kyle’s extraordinary patience and kindness make for a perfect pair.
