When moving to Melfort last Spring Luke was far from Nadia's radar... busy with camp and planning for Africa she did not want a man. In July, Luke made it known that he wanted something even though Nadia was leaving the continent in January. Some "not date dates" lead to some real dates, and Nadia decided to stick around in town a little longer... dates turned into making things official by summer's end

The couple found early they had many interests in common. Their favourite thing was (and still is) to take an adventure in one of Luke's much loved vehicles (of which he sometimes lets Nadia drive...) in fact Nadia helped Luke name his truck "Columbus" due to all the fun adventures they take together! They even sailed the river blue of the South Saskatchewan river this fall! Another favourite along with those adventures has been picnics! Each taking turns packing food and learning each others likes and dislikes.

When not out adventuring Nadia and Luke spend a lot of time at Luke's house. Here Nadia fills the home with delicious aroma's and Luke happily helps with the disaster that Nadia leaves behind. That or they can be found in the living room reading a book together or playing crib.

The "L word" sat on the tips of their tongues early, both waiting for the other to say it first. It wasn't too long after that when the two admitted to each other that they wanted to marry each other... Before Christmas and Nadia's departure, marriage and engagement was a regular conversation that many of you would have caught wind of... and the two began getting excited to spend life together!

The saying "distance makes the heart grow fonder" was a true saying for the couple as Nadia flew overseas. The new year has come with it's difficulties of long distance, but has made the realization that they wanted to be married even more true. Before leaving Luke promised Nadia a ring upon her return... and he didn't wait long... so here we all are on our way to their wedding day!
