Returning to Texas State campus after the Covid quarantine, Nadya and Mario grew in friendship after being introduced by a mutual friend. While working out together, attending adoration, and hanging out with friends on campus, Mario developed feelings for Nadya and he asked her out on a date. While the first date story is a crazy one, Mario knew after the first date that Nadya was the one. Three days later, Mario took her to Rio Vista for a picnic and on a private glass bottom boat tour on Spring Lake and asked her to be his girlfriend.
During the past 3 years of dating, Mario and Nadya grew deeper in love with each other and with the Lord. This past summer, Nadya and Mario took a road trip with their good friend Brenda. They traveled to the Grand Canyon, Antelope Canyon, Zion National Park, and Las Vegas, and finally ended up in Los Angeles, California. With careful preparation, Mario got down on one knee at the Santa Monica pier and proposed to Nadya. They celebrated their engagement in California and Texas with friends and family. As they prepare for the sacrament of matrimony, they look forward to the life-long journey they will embark on and create together.
