Our Story/Nuestra Historia

Our Story/Nuestra Historia

We first started talking online when a friend exchanged numbers for us. We had never met before. After chatting for a few days, Collin invited me to dinner at a ramen restaurant. I remember he had sent me a picture of ramen the day before, and I told him I wanted to try it. I thought it was very sweet that he chose that place for our first date.

When we met for dinner, we didn’t even speak the same language. At that time, I didn’t speak English and Collin didn’t speak Spanish, so we used Google Translate to communicate. We spent hours talking by typing messages on our phones and showing them to each other. Looking back, it still makes me smile. Two people who didn’t share a language still found a way to connect.

After that first dinner at the ramen restaurant, we started spending more and more time together, and very quickly we became inseparable.

One evening in downtown, while music played nearby, we shared our first kiss. To this day, we both say the other one started it so we like to believe we kissed at the exact same time. Right after that moment, Collin asked if I would be his girlfriend.

Since September 11, 2022, we have been inseparable. Our relationship has grown through love, friendship, and faith. God has always been at the center of our relationship, guiding us every step of the way.

Collin later proposed in a very spontaneous and funny way with a Ring Pop at a gas station. It was simple, sweet, and perfectly him. We were married in a civil ceremony on January 12, 2024, and now we are so excited to celebrate our marriage in the church and receive God’s blessing on our union.
