Once upon a time in the Rio Grande Valley,

Nancy and Tyler both swiped right! Sparks flew instantly between them as they messaged back and forth. They had their first date on July 18th, 2017 to see if the chemistry was real. By the end of the night, they were both ENCHANTED!!

On February 16th, 2018, after the best 6 months of going on dates, Tyler drove Nancy to South Padre Island and asked her to officially be his girlfriend AND told her that he loved her for the first time!

Then commenced Nancy and Tyler's long journey of long distance! It started off as 6 hours apart while Nancy completed medical school in Galveston. However, both worked hard at visiting each other and Tyler managed to move work closer, making their distance only 2.5 hours long. Nancy then matched to her residency program in San Antonio, TX. Shortly after, Tyler moved to Bastrop, TX to work on a solar farm making their current distance as little as 1.5 hours long!

Through it all, Nancy and Tyler have gone on several adventures and made many sweet memories. They enjoy exploring each other's towns, going on date nights, spending time with their sister cats, Sully and Zumiez, who are their furbabies and spending any time they can by the water. They return to SPI every year to enjoy the ocean in which their relationship started. Nancy and Tyler also love traveling and have made it an important part of their relationship. They went on their first international trip together on January 2023 across the Yucatan Peninsula and explored cenotes, beaches, and lagoons. They went on their second big trip to Belize on May 2024 to snorkel for the first time....

On May 6th, 2024, Tyler and Nancy went for an EIGHT hour snorkeling tour during their vacation in Belize, the home to the second largest Barrier Reef in the world. Tyler has always loved marine life and it was his dream to see a Queen Angelfish while snorkeling. And to his disbelief, he did!! Tyler took this as a blessing for a decision he'd already made. After coming back extremely sunburnt, Tyler asked Nancy to marry him and she said YES!!!
