Nancy and Alec met at SFU at Science Frosh - which was literally Capture The Flag at SFU, and then Science World. There was zero romance at this stage. But, they started to study together! Here's an early-days sniper shot from Steph, Dave, and Joseph (better and more affectionately known as The Sucks), who wondered if there were some feelings being caught.

This is the day that Nancy told Alec, "I'm so glad we're such good friends." Alec was somehow able to still proceed to ask her out later that day anyways - whew!

This Science formal was Nancy and Alec's first fancy date! Not pictured: Iman being a delightful third wheel. We love you Iman!

Alec made his first Valentine's Day card for Nancy with this sweet cutout of Moo & Roo on the cover. Alec's favourite animal is the cow, because his favourite elementary school teacher was named Mr. Cowie. And Nancy was nicknamed "Nanaroo" by her siblings and cousins, because of her clear resemblance to Roo from Winnie-the-Pooh. This is basically now the logo for their relationship.

On their first day of (med) school, Nancy and Alec get new backpacks they never use anymore. Also pictured: rare sighting of Nancy Duan with long hair and young Viv pre-Order of Canada (we all know it's coming).

Travel stories for fun: Nancy scored $10 box seats to the musical Aladdin in New York City through the lottery. She opened the email 2 minutes before the deadline to claim them. Despite not having her credit card at the ready, she was able to recall every digit of her credit card number within that 2 minute time-frame to seal the deal. Score!!!

Nancy and Alec hiked up Bukhansan in Korea alongside many buff and fit Korean ajumma's. This was one day before Alec had a heat stroke because he climbed up the mountain and left Nancy behind. Serves you right Alec!!

If you are friends with Alec, you have probably heard the story of how he asked Nancy out amongst the skeleton hands and unmolested snow on Burnaby Mountain. He wanted to create a similar effect for the fateful proposal, but fortunately his bro Andy vetoed the skeleton hands. The Christmas trees made for a better remake. Shoutout to Andy, Bryan, Jen, San, and Ty, who were a big part of this magical day!
