Connor and Nancy's Story

Connor's Story

One afternoon, I decided I was going to check out how my “matches” were going on the dating app, Hinge. In all honestly, I was fed up with the app. I was planning to delete the app after being disappointed. Little did I know, I happened to land a message from the one girl I was interested in talking to.

I decided I would shoot my shot. She would either say yes to going out on a date with me, or I will move on from this app and get back into the “my friends will help me find someone via their girlfriends” game.

So I shot my shot, and she said yes.

We planned an afternoon for her to come up to Roswell, and I was going to drive us over to the local park for a walk.

We walked around the park for a little bit and talked. Laughter flowed easily, and I knew I had found someone special. I just didn’t know how special yet.

After the walk, we went over to Pure, had some drinks, and talked a little more. I barely remember much of what we talked about. I was just thinking about how beautiful this blonde hair, blue-eyed girl was sitting across the table from me. The only thing I remember us talking about were our relationships with our parents and the high school days.

One thing in particular about my mother is that she cares a lot about those she loves. I remember telling Nancy that my mom was the type who would call the parents whose party I was “going to” to make sure the parents were home and that nothing seemed out of the ordinary. Nancy immediately shouted “My mom was the same way!” which gave me confidence that our parents would get along.

Sure enough, here we are 3+ years later.

On May 31, 2024, I decided I would plan a picnic at the Roswell Mill for us. This surely wouldn’t raise any red flags with Nancy that I was about to propose to her. I got down on one knee with a surprise photographer to capture the moment, AND SHE SAID YES!!

Nancy’s Story

Connor and I originally connected on the dating app, “Hinge,” in February 2021. While I thought the app was a fun waste of time, I did not expect something amazing to come out of it.

I ventured up to Roswell for Connor and I’s first date. We took a walk around a park nearby and ended the afternoon with margaritas. Some would say the perfect “Nancy” date. We shared stories, and I quickly felt a connection to more than just the person in front of me, but also the friends and family surrounding him. On our second date, Connor let me take home all the leftovers from Little Alley Steakhouse, and I knew it was no turning back after that.

As time flew by, Connor and I spent weekdays and weekends spending time with each other. The road eventually led us into a few location changes, as I was going through clinical rotations in physical therapy school. I moved up to Roswell after finishing school, and Connor and I were inseparable ever since.

Fast forward to the day Connor proposed, we went on a picnic at the Roswell Mill. After the picnic, Connor insisted we go up to the bridge on a prompt timeline, which raised a few suspicions with me. There was a photographer taking pictures of her daughter with rose petals surrounding her. It was the ultimate distraction to deter me for one second. He got down on one knee, and the rest is history!

Connor and I are blessed to share the bond and relationship we have, but we are even more blessed to unite our families in the near future. We can’t wait to celebrate our love with our friends and family in May 2025!
