I began my search for my wedding dress in 2024. Like most, I had my pick from market designers and brands, and from countless sites. At one point, I believed that I had found “the one” pretty wedding dress. Oddly, I started to ponder about the dress, for weeks. I felt torn.

Words like sustainability and organic kept arising, which did not fit with the dress I had chosen. Nudged, by the terms and their relation to the fabric, I found myself hunting for another wedding dress and looking for dresses, with these types of materials.

I stumbled across The Cotton Bride www.thecottonbride.com. Their wedding dresses had the perfect look of simplicity and natural feeling. On the same morning day, I came across their site, I called them, just to inquire.

Miraculously, I quickly found myself setting up an appointment with them, that same afternoon. On that first appointment with them, I had discussed my vision. The entire time there, the question in my head was, “can they really create my dress?” Even after I left my first session…the gravitational pull back to them, was indescribable.

I decided to investigate the cotton bride, further. To my shocking surprise the owner and designers of the cotton bride are no other than TWO FAMOUS AND WELL-KNOWN FASHION DESIGNERS!

FIKRE AYELE, owner AND CHRIS KOLE, fashion designer, have both created dresses, for the likes of: Dyanara Torres, Miss Universe (Assoc. Mark Anthony), Tyler Perry’s cast, Television personalities, and the list goes on.

Meet the Cotton Bride Article

A new spin on a classic.

What initially started off for me, of going through the norms, searching for a dress, picking out a dress and liking it, my direction was steered towards, The Cotton Bride experience. It is more than I could have ever imagined!

I am glad that it all happened, the way it did. Not knowing and letting it all happen, naturally. I am very happy and humbled to work with such creative design artists, to bring my vision to existence.

As my dress is in the production stages, I look forward to walking down the aisle in my dress, towards my husband-to-be. My dress will be an expression of me, my designers, and most fitting for the settings on our wedding day!
