Cody and Nancy had their first date at the Mill in the Haymarket on a frigid afternoon on January 19, 2022. We each got a hot chocolate to warm up and meet each other. Nancy did most of the talking while Cody listened. Cody noticed Nancy’s wonderful laugh which immediately caught his attention. Nancy noticed how calm and chill Cody was. We continue to go to the Mill each year on this date and celebrate with another hot chocolate.

On June 22, 2024 we had a picnic at Pioneer’s Park in Lincoln. Cody told Nancy to dress up for a fancy picnic. While we were enjoying our snacks at the same spot where Nancy told Cody “I love you” nearby, Cody’s brother, Ben set up the proposal area near the famed columns.
