Our story is a testimony to God’s love and mercy for us:Nanette and Connell first met for coffee in January of 2018.&nbsp;They both felt an instant attraction, and enjoyed each other’s company, but they had been through a lot and weren’t ready for a relationship.&nbsp;It would be almost a year before they saw each other again.&nbsp;In that “chance meeting”, they both felt that God had a plan and wanted them to be happy together.&nbsp;During his visit with his close friends Matt and Marlis over the 2018 Thanksgiving holiday, Connell promised Marlis that he would ask Nanette out for coffee.&nbsp;Marlis knew Connell and Nanette and believed they would make a good match.&nbsp;On Saturday, that same week, Connell (who was a volunteer firefighter) drove a fire engine to bring “Santa Claus” to the annual department Christmas party at the Dedisse Ranch.&nbsp;The children were excited to see Santa arrive at the ranch on a big red fire engine with lights and sirens.&nbsp;After Santa and the kids went inside the barn where the party was being held, Connell followed them inside.&nbsp;The first person he saw was Nanette, smiling and standing next to their mutual friend Dale.&nbsp;Nanette had volunteered to help their friend Anna prepare the barn for the kids’ Christmas party.&nbsp;Connell thought that running into Nanette in this “chance meeting”, just a day or two after promising that he would invite her to coffee, seemed more than a coincidence.Connell invited Nanette and Dale to step outside and see the fire engine that he had decorated for the kids.&nbsp;While they were chatting, Connell noticed Dale quietly and discreetly slipping away to let Connell and Nanette have some time together alone.&nbsp;Connell got the courage up to ask Nanette out for coffee.&nbsp;They met for coffee the next week, and then went on their first real date later that month.Over the last three years, since our first Christmas in 2018, we have become best friends, fallen in love, and have grown closer together.&nbsp;&nbsp;We are grateful to God for bringing us together and giving us the gift of each other.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;We look forward to loving, protecting, and caring for each other.We are truly blessed!
