We met in June of 2021 on the grounds of Camp Hilltop in a tiny town called Hancock, New York. We both arrived here to be camp counselors, and our first interaction was a fist bump down at the lake that ended with us both simultaneously saying "cheers". Although neither of us had any intentions of falling in love with someone from a different country, the universe obviously had a different idea.

On our first date, we went to an airport (ironic, we know) where we ate a ton of snacks and shared a whole lot of laughs until the thunder and lightning started, so we had to head back to camp. The second we walked in the doors it started to pour rain, and in perfect Joe and Naomi fashion, we decided to go out and stand in it. We danced around for about 30 seconds and were already drenched head to toe. After laughing at how stupid of a decision that was, we laid there staring at the ceiling talking about our family, friends, and lives back home.

One night just a few weeks later there we were sitting on G4's cabin porch talking about how difficult it would be if we tried to stay together after summer ended, but somehow this little chat ended with "will you be my girlfriend?"... and a little over a year later here we are planning a wedding!

We have been in a long-distance relationship since August of 2021, which has included an 8-hour time difference, lots of insane flights, and most of our months apart with a few amazing months together in between. Our relationship has not been easy, but it has been extremely rewarding, as we both know that it is so worth fighting for. It is not every day you come across a love like this.

We can't wait to spend the rest of our lives together debating which location is the best for stargazing, Flagstaff Arizona, or Camp Hilltop, and continuing to battle over what's better, sleeping with the TV on or off <3
