Our Story

It's a classic meet-cute story under the fluorescent lighting of a Whole Foods. Nate was only planning on buying milk, coffee beans, and protein bars, so he grabbed a basket, because he's an optimist.

Just milk, coffee, protein bars, and... fifteen minutes later, he's carrying a mountain of pasta, meatballs and he's trying to figure out how to grab three cans of tomato sauce.

Then bang! Naomi appears. Not in a romantic halo of light way, but more in a "you just dropped an entire family pack of marinara sauce on her shoes" kind of way. Tomato sauce everywhere.

Does Nate say "oh, I'm so sorry, let me help you?" Nope. He panics and in his infinite wisdom decides the best possible opening line is "Don't worry, it's organic!"

Luckily, Naomi laughs, and there we are, crouched in aisle six, cleaning up sauce with the roll of paper towels that Nate had not paid for yet. Technically, we're committing shoplifting together. If you want to know if you should spend your life with someone, see how they handle crime with you in the condiments section.

You know our favorite part of that story?

We just made it up - it's not true. That's very unsatisfying, isn't it? We wanted to write this little marinara marriage myth to make you laugh. The real story is we met on a dating app four years ago in October 2021 and have been together ever since. The real story is below.

Airports

Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport (DCA)

DCA is only 10ish minutes away from DC and significantly more convenient than Dulles. If you can fly into DCA, you'll be much happier. Also, it's a small airport, so it's usually pretty quick to get through security.
