What should I wear?

The Madonna Inn is known for its colorful kitschy and quirky decor. We would love for our guests to lean into the colorful, funky, and unique vibe. We encourage fun, fashion-forward outfits! Think bold colors (but black also warms our soul), prints, textures -- you name it. If you're unsure, text Naseem or Andy!

How dressy will the wedding be?

We would categorize this as "cocktail attire" -- a little less formal but still elevated. Tuxedos would be too fancy and sundresses would be too casual. For ladies, two piece sets totally work as long as they're still dressy.

What will the weather be like?

Coastal California has fairly mild weather year-round, but February is slightly chillier and potentially wet. We encourage you to bring a coat or jacket for the outdoor ceremony. In case of rain, the ceremony will be moved inside.

I'm flying in. Do I need to rent a car?

If you are flying into the San Luis Obispo (SLO) County Airport, an Uber or Lyft should suffice. If you are flying into Santa Barbara or LAX, we recommend you rent a car (or share with others) to drive up to SLO.

Which airport do you recommend I fly into?

The best options are SLO or Santa Barbara Airport. They are both much closer and are small airports so you can avoid all the LAX chaos. On the other hand, because they are small airports, they will have limited direct flights and will likely be more expensive. The extra cost in ticket may balance out with not needing to rent a car (SLO Airport only). LAX is our last recommendation, as it is 3 hours from SLO but may be better due to flexible timing, direct flight options, and cost efficiency.

When should I arrive?

If you are traveling within California, you can drive up the day of the wedding (Sunday, February 16th). If you are traveling from out-of-state, we recommend you fly in at least a day before (Saturday, February 15th).

Is there an after party?

Although the wedding ends at 10pm, those who want to continue the fun may do so at the Silver Bar (open until midnight) located on the main floor of the Madonna Inn. It's a public bar so there will most likely be guests from another wedding and the general public.

What is San Luis Obispo known for?

San Luis Obispo is a small town near the central coast, perfectly situated near beaches (Pismo Beach, Avila Beach, and Montana De Oro State Park) and wine country (Paso Robles). If you have time, we encourage you to take a short drive down the small beach towns (Morro Bay, Cayucos) or experience some wine tasting. It's also a 1.5 hour drive from beautiful Santa Barbara!
