General Wedding FAQs

Is Las Conchas Safe?

Las Conchas is a private gated community 20 minutes outside of Rocky Point, and almost all homeowners are from Arizona. The HOA provides security for the community 24/7. During February tourist season is low, so we do not recommend going out late at night outside of the community. The main house in the villa will be open nightly for community gatherings Thursday - Sunday.

Should I stay in Rocky Point?

We are requesting all of our guests to stay in Las Conchas for ease of travel and safety. Taxis are unreliable after 7 pm in Las Conchas. We do not want anyone drinking and driving.

Will there be food and drink at the wedding?

Yes, traditional Mexican cuisine and a fully stocked open bar for all of our guests to enjoy.

Will there be food and drink at the Welcome Party?

Yes, open bar and nachos for our family friends to enjoy.

Do you have a wedding registry?

The best gift we could receive is your presence on one of the most important days of our lives. We do not expect any gifts, especially since we are asking our guests to travel. However, for those who insist, you can donate to our honeymoon under the registry tab. We can't wait to celebrate you beachside!

Are the events hosted a venue or private estate?

The event will be hosted on a private estate in Las Conchas called Paradise Rocky Point.

What is the weather like in Las Conchas in February?

70s and windy. Bring a few light sweaters for the evening.

Rocky Point Traveling Tips

Should I drive or fly?

Driving to Rocky Point/Las Conchas is recommended. If you are traveling from outside of Arizona, we recommend flying into Phoenix Sky Harbor and renting a car to drive across the border; the drive is 3.5 hours long.

Do you I need travel's insurance?

Yes, if you are driving, you need to insure your vehicle in case you get stopped by the Mexican police or into an accident. American car insurance is NOT valid in Mexico. We recommend: https://www.sanborns.com/

Do I need a passport?

Yes.

What route should I take to get to across the board

Take I‑10 (west) to highway 85 to Gila Bend, or Maricopa Highway (East) to Gila Bend. From Gila Bend, continue south on Highway 85 to Ajo, AZ, and then to Lukeville, AZ. Once crossing the border, it's only a 45-minute drive on Highway 8 to Puerto Penasco.

What should I know about crossing the boarder

The Lukeville border is open daily from 6 AM to 8 PM, except on holidays when it closes at 10 PM. Make sure you’ve got everything in order—Mexican insurance for your vehicle, your passport, and current vehicle registration. It’s best to make this trip during the day for better visibility and safety. Just before you hit the border, Lukeville, AZ is ideal for picking up any last‑minute supplies. We do not recommend stopping once you cross the border until you hit Puerto Penasco. Make sure to follow the speed limit as it changes from MPH to KLM.
