We started seeing each other in October 2021. It all began with a lovely walk on Shelley Beach, Port Macquarie. Matthew was living in San Remo and he drove up for our first official date. He arrived early and we decided to take a stroll along Shelley Beach.

We will always remember this day due to the significance that the 'raven ' had to play. As we walked along the beach we saw two ravens with black shiny feathers and piecing white eyes. It's interesting as for many the black raven can symbolise bad fortune and death but to others they mean rebirth and starting anew. It can be seen as a very good sign. We were both drawn to them and stood and watched them for a while. We sat on the warm sand under the trees and meditated for a short period. We both commented on the calming sounds of the crashing waves.

As the morning went on Matt invited me to breakfast and we drove a short distance to Rivermart Cafe. We sat and enjoyed each other's company. I remember feeling a sense of calmness and ease. As we sat there looking out at the sailing boats moored close by, we notice a sail with the word (I kid you not) Raven.
