Christopher and I went to college at Defiance College and we were both in a program called Service Leaders. While we were both in this program and saw each other around the small campus from time to time, we never actually talked to each other while we were both attending school there.

One random day in 2020, I had shared an older picture of myself on Facebook. Christopher saw the picture and messaged me on Facebook saying something along the lines of “not to be creepy, but you look beautiful”. Obviously, I thought it was a little creepy but for some reason I kept talking to him through messenger and snapchat. And I’m so glad I did.

Unfortunately during this time the pandemic was taking over and I had moved back home to finish the semester and have my summer break. Finally in August of that year, we went on our first date to Coldstone right across the street from the college. I was so awkward and quiet, but luckily Christopher carried the conversation. I didn’t think he’d want to have another date with me because of how awkward I was, but here we are now planning our wedding! I’m so grateful he sent that seemingly creepy message years ago.
