Everyone told me I’d meet the love of my life in college… but I didn’t expect it to happen on day one.

It was my first day living on campus at K-State when my roommate, Hannah, and I decided to wander down to the Moore Hall basement to (poorly) sharpen our pool shark skills. That’s when we met Chris—he asked if we wanted to play doubles with him and one of his new friends. From that moment on, he just felt like home. We became instant best friends and were basically inseparable the entire year.

Then came summer. I moved back to Douglass, Kansas. Chris went home to Trinidad, Colorado. We cried saying goodbye, unsure if we’d even see each other again since he was switching degree paths. But one night, out of the blue, Chris called. He told me he’d had feelings for me for months—and that he couldn’t imagine us ending in any other way than marriage. (Cue the tears again.) From then on, we talked every night that summer.

On August 6th, 2023, we were both back in Manhattan and officially started dating. And the rest? Well, it’s a love story for the books.

Chris proposed on October 26th, 2024… and of course, I said YES! 💍💜
