If it wasn't for my Maid of Honor, Holly Reichle, we probably wouldn't have even met, let alone be getting married! Funny enough, in 2016 while I was visiting her for a weekend, she took my phone and was swiping through Tinder and all of a sudden came across a guy I "really needed to see!" I was hesitant because I had been on a few dates with guys from Tinder and to say "they weren't the best" would be an understatement. But, she kept begging me to just look at his profile because "he's really cute and he looks super tall" which, of course got my attention. So she handed me my phone, and as I was swiping through his photos I was thinking to myself, "okay, she's right, he's really cute!" I decided to swipe right, because why not? As soon as I did, I got a notification saying "You got a match!" Then no more than five minutes after that, I got a notification saying that I got a new message. Low and behold, it was Ian. He messaged me about one of the photos I had on my profile. The photo was basically a silhouette of me, leaping on the beach during sunrise. He messaged me saying, "Dang, you'll have to teach me how to have ups like you." Of course, I told him that "it's not as easy as it looks, and he will definitely need some practice." Then he proceeded to tell me that he wished he wasn't going home the following weekend, because he really wanted to learn how to "have ups like me." So, I agreed to a date the following weekend since he was going to be in the Orlando area anyway. We decided to go to the Bahama Breeze off of Alafaya Trail. My roommate at the the time, Kerri Fleming, ended up being our server. (You know, just to make sure Ian wasn't a serial killer or anything.) Little did we know, that this was going to be both of our last first dates, ever! To say that it was the best date I had ever been on, as corny and cheesy as that sounds, it was true! Right away, our personalities just meshed together. We went back and forth the whole night joking around and being over the top sarcastic with one another. I knew that there was something special about him...but I never imagined him being my husband.
