Q + A

Do you have a registry or gift list?

Simple answer, no. You travelling to join us on the other side of the world for our special day is gift enough. Your presence is the only present we need!

What does your dress code, beach chic, mean?

Relaxed vibes, linens, sunglasses and bright colours. Ladies think about bright, bold, tropically coloured summer dresses or jumpsuits, beachy boho vibes, floaty trousers, maybe some flowers in your hair, and sandals (we will be on a lawn so heels could be tricky but I am obviously risking them). Our only request is that you please leave the creams and whites, and any sparkles and sequins to the wedding party. Men, feel free to wear trousers or shorts with loafers or boat shoes, Hawaiian shirts are welcome of course, but more simple short sleeved shirts are too. No ties or suits are needed, although feel free to wear one if you wish. The wedding party will be in suits sans ties, but we want our guests to dress as they wish!

How do we find flights or accommodation?

Flights can generally be booked 335 days prior to travel. Hotels in Hawaii allow bookings 1 year before travel dates. We use an amazing travel agent, Susan Waymire, who will assist with flights and/or a full range of hotels and condos for a reasonable fee, although it is worth noting that she is not affiliated with airbnb or VRBO. In our opinion she is worth her weight in gold and her knowledge of the areas and places to stay is really very impressive. She will happily assist you with your planning for a small fee and can be contacted by email at Susan.W@travelstore.com

What are the best flight paths?

It seems easiest to travel from Cayman or the UK to LA or Dallas and then direct to Maui (OGG) from there. From Australia, there will be some direct flights from the East Coast direct to Hawaii, and probably a change in Honolulu. Flights are generally available to book 335 days before the flight, so we are yet to book too.

What is the weather typically like in Maui in April?

The days are usually dry and sunny and temperatures range from the mid 70s to low 80s Fahrenheit (20 - 25 Celsius). There could be some refreshing breezes as tradewinds are common in April. Once the sun goes down temperatures could drop a little, so a cardigan or light jacket may be useful in the evening as we will be outside for the ceremony and reception.

Do you plan to do much with the guests the day before or after the wedding?

Whilst we have some (quite a lot of) wedding admin that needs to be done once we get there, we would very much like to have time with loved ones before and after the wedding. As mentioned in our travel plans, we will be in Hawaii for a week or so after the wedding and would love to spend time with family and friends seeing the sights and enjoying all that Hawaii has to offer.

Can we take photos of your day?

Yes please. We would absolutely love you to take images and send them to us but we ask that people don't take images during the ceremony or share and/or post any images of us to instagram or other social media pages. We especially want your help taking photos at the following times: 1. Please all send us a well wish text and selfie (as a single, or in pairs or groups) whilst you are waiting for us to arrive and walk down the aisle. We want to gather these images and see a part of our wedding that we will miss and know that we will take such pleasure in seeing your faces and reading all the messages next day. 2. During the reception and of course the speeches, of both the speakers and audience/our reactions. 3. During the champagne tower pour... it is our version of the cake cutting! We would love you to take pictures of our day and share them with us using the app, Wedshoots. All you need to do is download the app, it is free, and then add your name and our account. It is super easy to use! Wedshoots Our album code: UK1bfa0cfa
