Our Story

It's true what they say about a core memory as we have the same first one of each other, although it was brief, it proved to be significant. We were in a shaving cream fight in elementary school during the youth group lock in at the Weslyn Church &amp; years later realized we both remember that moment. We didn't truly connect until a snow day in December at the General Squier sled hill - as all millennial high school love stories began, Tyler commented on Natalie's facebook wall, "You suck at sledding :D." This led to frequent texts, chatting in the halls &amp; asking Tyler to be Natalie's date to her senior prom. Of course, by the time prom rolled around we were falling in love. These last 14 years have been a wonderful journey of growing &amp; building a life together:

We highly recommend staying in Rochester if you are flying into DTW! Rochester is great area to stay as it is between the venue and the Detroit airport! There are a lot of things to do in Rochester &amp; it was where our first apartment was when we moved back to Michigan. It is about a 40 minute drive to the venue and an hour drive to DTW!

We highly recommend staying in Rochester if you are flying into DTW! Rochester is great area to stay as it is between the venue and the Detroit airport! There are a lot of things to do in Rochester &amp; it was where our first apartment was when we moved back to Michigan. This is a charming little hotel in downtown Rochester that is only 30 minutes to the venue and an hour to DTW!

Although there will not be parking on site, there are parking lots within 2 miles of the venue that we will be utilizing and providing shuttle services to and from. More info to come!

Travel

While we've known each other for most of our lives, we first truly connected at the Dryden sled hill on a snow day &amp; afterwards the two of us, along with our friends went to the Coney Island! So, it holds a special place in our hearts. Our recommendation: Main Street Pita with extra ranch!

While they no longer serve their classic tacos, we still love Charlie Browns! Tyler asked Natalie if she wanted to "taco 'bout making it official," here in 2018 &amp; then later after he proposed on the sled hill, brought it full circle &amp; put "wanna taco 'bout forever?" in 2023! Our recommendation:Tyler - Chicken gyro &amp; a dirt sundae (lol)Natalie - Buffalo chicken ranch wrap &amp; a hot fudge sundae

Our local coffee shop! Good Grounds is walking distance from our first home &amp; we've become regulars. They know us by name! Our recommendation:Tyler - Chocolate &amp; banana loaf (he isn't a big coffee guy lol)Natalie - Iced coffee &amp; bacon, egg &amp; cheese breakfast sandwich on sourdough

Just down the road from our house is our favorite local farm, Blake's Backyard! We frequent here far too often for cider &amp; donuts which you may or may not get to try on our wedding day ;) However, we absolutely recommend coming by here for dinner - they've got live music on Friday evenings.
