🛂 Passports & Visas

• Do I need a passport to attend the wedding?
Yes. All guests will need a valid passport to travel. Please make sure yours is valid for at least 6 months after the wedding date (check your country’s requirements).

• Do I need a visa to enter Jamaica?
Many guests will not need a visa for short tourist stays, but requirements vary by citizenship. Please check the official government website for Jamaica or consult your airline to confirm what you personally need.

• How early should I apply or renew my passport?
We recommend checking your passport now and starting any renewal or first-time application at least 4–6 months before travel to avoid delays.

• Will you help with visa applications?
We’re not able to assist with applications, but we encourage you to review your country’s travel guidelines and the Jamaica embassy or consulate website for the most accurate information.

💳 Money, Currency & Payments

• What currency is used in Jamaica
The local currency is Jamaican dollars. Many places accept major credit cards, but it’s a good idea to have some local cash for tips, small shops, and taxis.

• Should I exchange money before I arrive?
You can either exchange a small amount before you leave or withdraw local currency from ATMs once you arrive, which often gives a good rate. Check with your bank about international withdrawal fees.

• Are credit cards widely accepted?
Major cards are generally accepted at hotels, restaurants, and larger shops. Smaller spots may be cash-only, so plan to carry some local currency.

• Do I need to notify my bank about travel?
It’s a good idea to let your bank and credit card companies know your travel dates and destination to avoid any security holds on your cards.

• What about tipping?
Tipping customs vary by country. In Jamaica, typical tips are approximately X–Y% at restaurants and small amounts for hotel staff and drivers. You can adjust based on your comfort level and service.

🌍 General Travel Notes

• What dates should I plan to travel?
We recommend arriving by November 5, 2026 so you have time to settle in before the wedding on November 7, 2026.

• Where can I find updated travel information?
Please check our wedding website’s Travel and Where to Stay sections for the latest details, and refer to official government and airline websites for any entry or health requirements.
