March 14th, 2015 = 3/14/15 = 3.1415 = Pi. Pi is a mathematical constant and seemed like the perfect wedding dates for two geeks who met while studying engineering. While each year has a Pi day on March 14th, only once in every 100 years is there a 3.1415.
