Like all great modern love stories, Nate and Kara’s began in 2021 with a dating app and a digital rose. Nerves were high before their first date, so high that Kara made her cousin Kate circle the block a few times before she finally got out of the car. That night, they talked about family, their goals, and their shared love for good food. Kara learned both of Nate’s parents were teachers, which she loved since she was in school to become one herself. A couple of months in, Nate told Kara he was falling in love with her. Her response? Aww, thank you! I think I’m a few days behind you. A few days later, she caught up and told him she was falling for him too. Soon after, they made their relationship official. On December 21, 2024, Nate gave Kara an “early Christmas present” and took her on a private boat ride in Marina del Rey. As the sun was setting, she jokingly pointed out a plane flying by with a Will You Marry Me? banner. Little did she know, moments later, he’d actually be down on one knee.
