Our Wedding

We were just two kids growing up in North Carolina—never far apart, with overlapping circles of friends and the kind of small-town connections that made it feel like we’d always known&nbsp;of&nbsp;each other. Our lives brushed shoulders through the years, but we never really had our moment. Not yet. Eventually, life pulled us in different directions. We each moved away, chasing degrees, work, and new beginnings. Seasons came and went, and for five years, we lived separate lives—growing, learning, and becoming who we were meant to be. Then, in October 2024, something simple sparked everything. I had posted a CrossFit story on Instagram, just part of a normal day. Nate—who had recently started CrossFit himself—slid into my DMs with a comment. It wasn’t anything overly bold, just enough to get a conversation going. What started as a friendly exchange turned into a full-on reconnection. At first, it was mostly platonic—two people catching up, comparing workouts, swapping stories about where life had taken us. But as the days turned into weeks, we both began to feel something shift. There was comfort, curiosity, and something we hadn’t expected: a growing sense of peace that maybe, just maybe, this was&nbsp;more. Little by little, walls came down and and in the middle of it all, we found something steady and real. By February 2025, we were officially dating—long distance, but committed. It wasn’t always easy, but it was always worth it. Through countless phone calls, FaceTime calls, letters, weekend visits, and many hours spent in prayer, the Lord made the path clear for us. All along, we trusted that God was writing a story far better than anything we could have planned ourselves. And then came the morning of August 30th, 2025. The sky over Emerald Isle was painted in soft oranges and pinks, the waves crashing gently behind us as the sun began to rise. It was quiet. Peaceful. Sacred.Nate took my hand, led me to the sand, and got down on one knee. “Will you marry me?” And in that moment—the ocean behind us, and the sun rising on the day that would change everything—I said yes to forever. Our story is one of timing we never could have planned, grace we didn’t expect, and love that feels like home. From two kids in North Carolina to partners in life and faith—we’re just getting started.
