Where it all began "my cry for help"!!!!! On the corner of Pico Blvd and Holt Ave on what appeared to be any ordinary day at work. Our paths would cross for the first time. I arrived at the scene of a man with a pipe (Assault with deadly weapon). I requested a Back Up!!!! Low and behold who shows up RYAN!!!! We take the suspect into custody and as Ryan was getting his information, the suspect spontaneously stands up and tries to run away. Ryan grabbed the suspect and dragged him to the back seat of his patrol vehicle. He then asked me where his Department ID was. I vaguely remember grabbing it when the suspect tried to run away, but was unsure what I had done with it. Fast forward 30 minutes, we had looked everywhere for his ID (the sidewalk , both patrol cars, gutters, EVERYWHERE). I check my back pocket and I had his ID the whole time (Something Ryan would not let me live down to this day "She lost my ID"). We would go our separate ways that day never thinking our paths would cross again. Yet six months later I was working a special detail at another division and this young not so flattering cop stopped me and asked, "do you remember me?" I replied with a confident "No" cringe!!!!!!!! I could feel his heart breaking from across the room. He replied , " You lost my ID." and that's where our love story began.
