Groomsmen
Caleb - Best Man
For as long as I can remember, Caleb has been a dear friend to me. A brother whom I can trust with my life and share anything and everything with. This man of God is the epitome of iron sharpening iron.
Marshall - Groomsman
I have no brothers, but Marshall I have known the longest and he is a dear friend.
Garrett - Groomsman*
Another lifelong brother, Garrett has played an important role growing up with me as a friend. I will miss him at our wedding as he serves overseas, but I am honored that I will share the same calling with this dear friend.
*Garrett is currently deployed to Europe and unfortunately cannot attend the wedding.
Jeremiah - Groomsman
When I needed a brother in Christ and mentor, Jeremiah has been there to be both at UTSA. Thank you for teaching me more about my walk with God.
Chris - Groomsman
* Chris unfortunately cannot attend the wedding because his sister is also getting married on May 22! Woohoo!
Bridesmaids
Annie - Matron of Honor
My awesome friend, small group leader, and chocolate chip cookie dealer. Annie has been my small group leader since 2019, and man, I have grown so much so fast under her leadership and friendship. She is responsible for getting me hooked on sparkling water and for challenging me to pursue Jesus more fervently and to seek out new friends to share with them Jesus. If I were more specific about the ways Annie changed my life, I might as well write a paper. I'm forever grateful for all the food, time, fuel, advice, and stories Annie has shared with me. And that's the cheese.
Alexis - Maid of Honor
My accountability partner, funny buddy, and best friend. We met in Annie's small group in 2019 and thought that befriending each other was going to be hard... Well, look where we are now. She asks the best questions and is unafraid to check me. We grew closer during quarantine when we would send each other memes, our experiences with Jesus, snippets of her original songs for Jesus, and more. We started having sleepovers fall 2020, too, which was da best. Alexis has an immensely deep love for the Lord, one that inspires me even now to approach the throne of God with full confidence. What a queen.
Sarah - Bridesmaid
My good friend and first small group leader when I joined Chi Alpha. Sarah welcomed me warmly at the turning point of my life. If I hadn't met Sarah, I truly believe that I wouldn't be walking rightly with the Lord today. Sarah taught me how to walk daily with the Lord, to see and serve Him rightly, and to surrender everything freely to Him who is faithful. I became flexible and welcoming because Sarah was flexible and welcoming with me. She also taught me that goofiness has a place in the Kingdom of God. Now, I'm speechless, over the edge, and just breathless.
Jaelyn - Bridesmaid
My sweet friend, roommate, wisdom-sharer, and laugher of my dumb jokes. We met in Sarah's small group in 2019 and, after the first time I attended a Chi Alpha service, she blasted "Replay" by Iyaz so loudly in the car that I, despite of myself, sang along and realized that the Lord has given me a good friend in this sweet stranger. Since then, Jaelyn has shown me how to be Jesus's friend, how to socialize well, how to handle things gracefully, and how to actually tell funny stories. She is a great listener and understand-er of whatever weird thing comes out of my mouth. 👁️👄👁️
Hannah - Bridesmaid
My wonderful friend and ray of sunshine, my boba buddy and fellow Korean drama enthusiast. She was in resource group with Sarah, so I met her through that small group with Sarah and Jaelyn in 2019. My first memory of her is when she actually gave me a Valentine's Day candy at small group even though I expected nothing because I was new. Since then, Hannah has become one of the most important people in my life. She has taught me what it means to completely put my faith in Jesus, the power and meaning of prayer, and (indirectly) how to build a family that worships Jesus continuously. Also, that Chick-fil-A's honey roasted barbecue sauce is better than Chick-fil-A sauce.
Anna - Bridesmaid
Nathan's sweet sister and my future sister-in-law. My first impression of Anna was through Nathan's Snapchats that he would send me over the summer, and I absolutely loved how adorable and goofy Anna was. Whenever I would visit Nathan for the weekend over the summer, Anna so generously lent me her bed while she slept on the couch---for two nights! It has been an honor to grow in friendship with Anna through jokes, food, and Jesus. More importantly, though, Anna has shown me true servanthood, what it means to be a daughter of God, how to look at situations through Jesus's eyes, and the value of joy. To be her sister-in-law is a great pleasure!
