It all started in high school, more specifically my senior year, when I made a life-changing realization about myself: none of the girls in my past relationships have ever actually liked me, let alone loved me. Obviously in high school and any time before that, no one is really looking for love like that, and to be honest, neither was I. But at the same time, being a teenager in high school means that even YOU don’t know what you want.

The day I figured out what I wanted was October 6, 2018. I went to Busch Gardens in Williamsburg with some friends for the Howl-O-Scream event, and among this group of friends was some girl named Releina. I’ve somewhat known who she was for a while, but I only knew her because I was close friends with 2 of her cousins (Christian and Rowan) so in a way, I was already pretty close to the family way before I ever got close with her. When we got to Busch Gardens, all was normal and everything and not too eventful… until suddenly something made this night the very top memory of my life. On that very night, I had CAUGHT FEELINGS for none other than, the one and only, Ms. Releina Alegre. I don’t know what kind of arrow Cupid hit me with, but all I know is that it hit me HARD. For the rest of that night, I’ve never left my focus on her. She had caught so much of my attention that I don’t even remember anything else that happened that didn’t involve her in any way; I was locked in.

Who would’ve known that a random Busch Gardens trip would be the precursor to a long-lasting and fruitful relationship? Who knew that one day at an amusement park would help me score the most beautiful and loving person I could ever meet, along with laying out the rest of my future with that person? I for sure didn’t, not even close. As for how I see it, this is one of the top reasons why I know God loves me and blesses me every day. Because not only did He give me an angel on Earth, but now I get to spend the rest of my life with her. Though I may not know what His plan for us will consist of, through the good and bad, through the sick days and healthy days, thick and thin, I will always love her unconditionally. No matter what comes in our way, I have faith in God that His plan will never fail us and that we never fail each other and our family. Cheers to a wonderful and amazing new chapter in our lives, and to a love that grows with each and every day we spend together!
