Hiking
There are endless hikes near Hood River. Many of the waterfall viewpoints and hikes are on the way from PDX. Although it is ideal to stop and hike as you drive in from the airport, do not leave any valuables in your car at the trailheads.
Multnomah Falls
Scenic waterfall to stop and check out on the way to Hood River. There is a short hike to ascend the falls.
Historic Columbia River Highway State Trail
Paved trail path on the historic highway for biking & road running. Recommend the Hood River to Mosier segment.
Latourell Falls
Beautiful falls to explore just off the scenic highway. Highly recommend stopping to check this one out.
Tom Dick & Harry Mountain
8.2 mile hike with 1,700' of elevation gain. This hike is a little further away at Mount Hood.
Angel's Rest
4.5 mile hike with 1,500' of elevation gain with a view of the Columbia River.
Trillium Lake
Beautiful view of Mount Hood and a short 1.7-mile hike around the lake.
Wahkeena, Ecola, and Multnomah Falls Loop
5.1 mile hike with 1,600' of elevation gain passing by numerous waterfalls.
Tamawanas Falls
3.4-mile hike to a waterfall near Mount Hood.
Dog Mountain
6.5-mile hike with 3,000' of elevation gain. There should be some wildflowers at the top to accompany the view (if it is not too cloudy)..
