Zoë and Nathan’s story begins in the summer of 2024, when they first met working at Camp Shake-a-Paw. What started as casual conversations around the water bowl (for the dogs, of course!) eventually turned into a sweet workplace flirtation by March 2025.

By May, they were spending more and more time together—though Nathan never officially asked Zoë to be his girlfriend. She waited patiently (okay, a little impatiently), until one day she realized he had just assumed they were already dating. Zoë did make him backtrack and ask the question properly—and the rest is history.

From walking Zoey the Afghan Hound, to sharing Ben & Jerry’s, to navigating the joys (and minor chaos) of cooking together, their days were full of sweet, simple memories. Monday night Bible studies became a regular rhythm—often held in the car while listening to sermons on the way to visit Zoë’s many far-flung family members. Nathan covered a lot of ground for those visits—driving to two other provinces! Meanwhile, Zoë fit into Nathan’s world so seamlessly that his family often wondered if she ever went home.

By June 2025, Nathan had already bought the ring—he knew Zoë was the one. He just had to wait a few more months before popping the question. At the end of August Nathan popped the question at the Westminster ponds on a dog walk, because the two of them are never without dogs. The following months have been filled with wedding plans and here we all are, awaiting the big day!
