Our Story

Picture of Our Story

We met in 2018 when Nathan joined the Kepnock Krushers cheerleading team; in his final year of high school. Throughout this year, we went away together to cheerleading competitions and got to know each other from a slight distance. It wasn’t until around August of 2018 when we became close friends, through my interest in the beautifully hand painted wooden cars that Nathan had posted on his social media, from West Baptist Church’s Wood and Wheels Race. That night, we stayed up until 6:00AM talking about our interests, hopes, dreams, fears and more. From that night on, we were best friends.

Fast forward to July of 2019, Nathan’s 18th birthday. In the week leading up to this, we hung out (as friends) twice, hugging, laughing, and loving our time together. His birthday came and went, I attended the party, met all of his extended family and had a wonderful time. Just days later we confessed our feelings for each other, keeping in mind that neither of us had seen this coming, but apparently everyone else had. On July 16th 2019, Nathan asked me to be his girlfriend.

From July 2019 to March 2023, we’ve grown up together. Nathan and I both have helped each other through hard times and celebrated our achievements together. We’ve been lucky enough to be there for each other for over three years and have built a wonderful love together.

On the 11th of March 2023, Nathan proposed to me! He planned a beautiful picnic in a special place near the ocean, that I’ve dreamed of being my ‘proposal spot’ since I was 14. Nathan cooked us a beautiful dinner of ironically, ‘Marry me chicken’. Throughout our sunset picnic, I was asked to close my eyes for a surprise, a couple of times. The first few being yummy treats for us to enjoy, and the last, my love down on one knee, ‘Will you marry me?’. Of course, I said ‘yes’! We then immediately went to both of our families’ houses and told them the news, although both already knew about Nathan’s intentions of our date.

Where to from here? Well, we’re getting married in July 2024! We’re so overjoyed with the love that we’ve received from all of our family and friends and can’t wait to celebrate with you all! We have a few upcoming events over the next year and will be very busy planning for our wedding.

We can’t wait to celebrate our love for countless years to come.
