Nathanael and Holly met each other 2018 having just been placed on the same team. Neither of them were looking for a relationship beyond friendship, but as the year progressed, they were growing closer & closer, to the point that Nathanael knew he had to make a decision. In January of 2019, Nathanael asked Holly if she would prayerfully consider to start intentionally get to know one another, before considering entering into a exclusive relationship with one another.

Pray she did, for on April 1st of that year, Holly let Nathanael know that she was willing to start dating him. Things were awkward at first, but by November of that year, around American Thanksgiving, Holly let Nathanael know that they were official. They were now in an exclusive relationship working towards marriage.

A year later, their relationship was much stronger than before, so much so, that Nathanael was planning on going to meet Holly's parents that summer. Unfortunately, the world entered into a pandemic standstill. Nathanael had to return to Canada, and Holly had to return to China. For two years their relationship continued to persevere over Zoom, before Nathanael had the opportunity to go to Thailand.

It wasn't until over a year after Nathanael went to Thailand that that Holly was able to leave China and come to Thailand. And though the relationship persevered over zoom, their relationship needed time for them to be together; to hit the unpause button.

God blessed their time together in Thailand, they both individually grew & matured, and their relationship grew immensely.

On Feb. 2025 Nathanael started his proposal plan, and though much of the plan didn't work out as he planned, he seized the opportunity given to pull out the ring he had been saving, to share with her their journey, his love and thankfulness for God and for her, and his desire to continue as husband and wife. After taking some time to get over the shock, Holly said yes~!
