What should I pack?
Here's a list of items we recommend you pack for your lovely weekend on Lake George:
1) Outfits for each days' events/activities (see wedding website for details). 2) Towel. 3) Bathing suit. 4) Warm clothing (for cool evenings). 5) Reusable water bottle. 6) Sunscreen. 7) Flip flops/Thongs/Jandles 🩴 (or whatever you call them in your native land). 8) Shoes without a pointed heel (this is a natural setting with uneven surfaces). 9) Rain jacket/rain apparel (just in case). 10) Hair dryer and clothing steamer (if convenient).
When does check-in start at the camp?
Check-in at the camp starts at 4pm (people arriving on the train/bus will get there a little earlier). Upon check-in, bedding will be provided. However, please bring your own towel (maybe two, one for bathing and one for showering). For those traveling from far away, we will work to secure some extra towels.
What is the dress code?
Please see the Weekend Schedule on the Home Page for the dress code for each event.
This is not a black-tie event, and we look forward to this wedding being on the less formal side (high heels are strongly discouraged!). We have selected dress themes for many of the weekend events to really turn up the ambiance! We request all our guests get into the sprit of the weekend by adhering to the themes. We greatly appreciate the time and effort you spend on getting your outfits ready!!
Where can I get ready?
Tere are plenty of showers. We will be creating a dedicated primping space. Complete with additional mirrors, extension cords, steamers, irons, hair dryers and the like. If you are coming from the city, and it is not a bother please bring your own hairdryer.
Can I attend for just part of the weekend?
The wedding ceremony will take place on Sunday, September 8, 2024. However, we have planned a series of festive events throughout the weekend. The celebrations will commence on Friday, September 6, featuring speeches and a lively BBQ dinner. The festivities will culminate with a farewell brunch on September 9. We respectfully request that our guests join us for the entire weekend, allowing them to fully immerse themselves in the joyous atmosphere and create lasting memories. Please let us know if you cannot join for the totality of the weekend.
What are the open air cabins like?
Adirondack Camp is a fully functioning camp in the summer with happy campers and counselors, and the cabins are designed for comfort. Think of the cabins as upscale camping (aka "glamping"). They have canvas exteriors which can be extended to keep the warmth in. Though bugs are not normally an issue in September, each bunk is supplied with a mosquito net. High quality linens and thick blankets will be provided.
Are you accepting gifts?
Your presence is the greatest gift we could ask for! We are not accepting traditional wedding gifts as, after the wedding, our plan is to take an extended honeymoon by embarking on a period of travel living in a van. However, if you would like to contribute in a meaningful way, those who are able are welcome to cover the cost of their accommodation for the weekend, which amounts to approximately $300 per person. Your generosity in taking the time to share this special weekend with us is truly cherished. A fund has been set up on the registry page for those who wish to contribute.
Can I bring a plus one?
As we have chosen to keep our wedding a gathering for our close friends and family. We want to limit the gathering to friends of ours. We hope you understand our desire to create a more personal and meaningful experience for our loved ones. Please let us know your personal circumstances if there's a specific request we should consider.
What is the child policy?
We understand that finding childcare for the full weekend will be difficult for parents of young children. Kids are allowed during the wedding weekend, however for the wedding day we will provide childcare on site so everyone can let loose for the big day. Please let us know your circumstances so we can plan accordingly for care and accommodation.
