Natthaya and Chaz met at a party in 2009. The two added each other on Facebook shortly afterwards and became distant associates. They would occasionally keep in touch via Facebook Messenger when they were both working the graveyard shift at their respective jobs. In May of 2018, they would cross paths at Myrtle Beach and the true friendship began. Over the course of the next year, the two would share single life stories while taking Hennessy shots on late-night Facetime calls. A mutual friend would see the similarities in their personalities and suggested they should pursue more than a friendship. Tia and Chaz, hilariously, had the same reaction – “Hell naawwww!” – stating that they have told each other way too much about their personal lives, at this point.

On the evening of January 2021, Chaz mentioned that their mutual friend might be on to something. The two shared texts and decided to give it a shot. They went on many dates, trips, and events together. Sharing all these moments together, made them realize they have something special. Natthaya and Chaz continued their journey – getting to know each other, moving in together, beginning to build a life and planning their future.

As Natthaya’s February birthday approached, in 2023, she began to plan a trip to Houston. Having lost a very close friend in the city, Houston held sentimental value to her, and Chaz took note of that. He began to think of ways to make her birthday and Houston trip a time that she would never forget. They say, “when you know, you know” and, although it had only been two years, Chaz knew that he wanted to spend the rest of his life with Natthaya. Knowing the significance of Houston, and that all Natthaya’s sisters, close friends and some family would be in attendance, Chaz planned to pop the big question while there.

Apprehensive and nervous, Chaz ordered a bridal set. After learning that the rings would not be delivered in time for the trip, he panicked. During their second night in Houston, while preparing to paint the town red, Natthaya’s friends and sisters gathered for pictures in front of a mural in the living room of their Airbnb. Having planned for this moment while at Kamp, one of Natthaya’s friends set her phone to record while Chaz and Natthaya posed for pictures. As Natthaya turned to face Chaz for one final snap, Chaz got down on his knee, and produced his mother’s diamond engagement ring. Natthaya turned and faced him and covered her face with her hand in disbelief. She drew back to slap him and said “B*tch, don’t play with me!” Chaz asked, “so do you want to spend the rest of your life with me?” Natthaya obliged!
