Our love story is one of coincidences, friendship, romance, and the Lord's perfect timing.

Nayoung and Joye's story began at the University of Florida (go gators!). We both studied at the Business School, had the same majors, shared a few classes, and even had mutual friends. But to everybody's surprise, we never met until our senior year at a party. "Nice to meet you... I've heard a lot about you... What was your name again?" were the initial words used as two strangers awkwardly introduced themselves, not knowing what was to come.

Coincidences. We both graduated and moved to Atlanta in 2021, where our paths aligned once again. Working from offices that were 2 miles apart and joining the same friend groups in Atlanta, it seemed as though Nayoung and Joye bumped into each other at every corner.

Friendship. It wasn't until we both decided to go church hunting together that an intentional friendship started to form. From giving each other life advice to sharing deep conversations about our faith to attending more parties in Atlanta, it became a bond that grew stronger with time. While everyone around us could see it, we were the last to realize that our connection was becoming something much more than just friendship.

Romance. The transition from friendship to romance wasn't an easy one, but after a few months, Joye nervously confessed his feelings to Nayoung in the Victory Church parking lot. That same day, Nayoung shared with him a list of qualities she looked for in a significant other. Joye's list was almost identical to hers. A few weeks later, on Easter Sunday of 2022, we made it official as girlfriend and boyfriend.

The Lord's Perfect Timing. We believe wholeheartedly that our journey together has been beautifully orchestrated by God’s perfect timing. From the moment we first met, through the milestones we’ve shared, we’ve seen countless signs and miracles that have brought us closer than we ever imagined. We can't wait to step into the next chapter of our love story, as The Onis!
