Our love story began when we were both counselors at Camp Catch Up in 2015. This is a summer camp for kids in the foster care system that don't live together. After Nedu threw on the charm and got my number, we spent the rest of the camp flirting like a bunch of teenagers! A few weeks went by and Nedu invited me to spend the 4th of July with him and his friends in Lincoln. This was the first weekend we spent together. The 4th of July will always have a special place in our hearts.

Nedu decided to move away to further his education by pursing his masters degree. Throughout the next few years, we would meet up in the summers for random dinner dates, text each other "happy birthday!", check in on each others' families, and have long phone calls or zooms. Around March or April of 2020, we both found ourselves talking more and kept each other company from a distance during the pandemic. Now that we both had our masters, we were looking to make the next steps in our careers! This meant I obtained a job in Lincoln while Nedu was ALSO interviewing for jobs (later becoming his current job in Nebraska's athletic department)! To say it was fate or perfect timing is probably an understatement.

Before we both moved to Lincoln, I took a quick trip to see him in New England over, you guessed it, 4th of July weekend. This was our first trip together! We visited Rhode Island, Massachusetts, & where he lived, Connecticut!

In July of 2020, I moved to Lincoln, and Nedu followed a month later and we finally were able to start dating - becoming official on August 19th! From there, we moved, adopted our sweet fur baby Navi then moved into our apartment outside of Gretna in August of 2022 right before we celebrated our 2 year anniversary!

That leads us to, our special day. One of the firsts of the special days to come!
